Chapter 133 He has a Sense of Crisis
After finishing her meeting with Keith, Evelyn returned home and found her neighbor, Dermot, moving his belongings.
"Ms. Kyte," Todd saw her and greeted her. Evelyn took out her keys, and opened her own door, when Todd said, "Ms. Kyte, I apologize for not recognizing you earlier."
He felt responsible as Dermot's assistant, as he should have known everything about him, otherwise, such a joke would not have happened.
"There's no need to apologize. Dermot and I were married for two years, and he didn't recognize me either. You're just his assistant, so it's normal that you don't know me," Evelyn felt that the other person didn't need to apologize.
Todd hesitated but decided to explain a few things to his boss. "Ms. Kyte, Mr. Doyle is a good person.
He was just holding his breath at the time, so he didn't want to go to the mansion to see you."
But after that breath dissipated, it became difficult for Dermot to remember that there was such a person.
"Since you appeared, Mr. Doyle has changed. He has been attracted to you.
if he had seen you back then, he wouldn't have divorced." Sometimes, things are just inexplicable. The heavens like to play tricks on people.
Perhaps Todd was right, but Evelyn didn't mind. She said to him, "This just happens to show that there is no fate between him and me. Fate is a mysterious thing. It didn't exist before, and it won't exist in the future."
Todd was stunned but still insisted, "Not having it before doesn't mean it won't happen in the future." He felt that there was still fate between them, otherwise, how could they have met after the divorce?
Evelyn couldn't be bothered to argue with him. This person was just like Dermot, always overthinking things. No wonder he was his assistant.
They had the same disposition. She opened the door to her room, Todd watched her leave with some helplessness, then turned around and was about to tell the servants to be more efficient, when he saw Dermot standing behind him, having come out of the bedroom at some point.
"Mr. Doyle," Todd was startled, afraid that Dermot had overheard his conversation with Evelyn.
Dermot glanced at the neighboring door with a gloomy expression, then looked at Todd and said, "Who told you to speak out of turn?"
"Sorry, Mr. Doyle, I was just..."
"Go inside and pack your things," Dermot waved his hand to interrupt him and let him go into the room to pack. Todd didn't say anything else.
When Dermot and his group finished packing up and moving out, Evelyn knew about it, but she didn't go out to say goodbye, feeling that it was unnecessary. they wouldn't meet each other again after moving out, so there was nothing more to say. Being strangers was fine.
Dermot did consider knocking on her door several times to say something, but he didn't. He knew that Evelyn didn't want to see him that much, so he didn't want to affect her mood.
Downstairs in the apartment building, Keith didn't know where he
The news that Keith had known for a long time was waiting there, just waiting to see Dermot's reaction.
Dermot came out, accompanied by a group of people carrying luggage. Keith burst into laughter, "Dermot, Dermot, I never expected this day would come for you too!"
The man ignored him.
Keith, however, didn't intend to give up. He followed, continuing, "It seems that Evelyn hates you, you poor thing."
Dermot stopped in his tracks and turned to look at him. "Weren't you interested in pursuing Evelyn? Why haven't there been any recent developments? Instead, it gave Greg an opportunity."
Compared to Greg, Dermot preferred Keith to bother Evelyn, at least he understood that Keith wasn't interested in her.
As for that Greg...
He felt a sense of crisis.
