Chapter 1103: Dermot, I Will Be Back
"Ms. Kyte, the gate's that way!" Brandon hollered when he saw Evelyn heading the wrong direction.
Joshua grabbed his arm and shook his head. "She ain't coming with us."
Brandon looked confused.
Just as he was trying to figure it out, a gunshot echoed, and Joshua took a bullet to the chest.
"Mr. Garcia!"
"Joshua!" Evelyn spun around at the sound of the shot. Seeing Joshua hit, she sprinted over.
More gunshots rang out, and chaos erupted.
"Shit! We're under attack!" Brandon cursed. He thought Joshua's enemies had given up, but clearly, they were lying in wait.
Evelyn didn't know the details, but she knew Joshua needed a hospital, fast.
"Brandon, cover me. I'll get Joshua outta here." Evelyn scanned the chaotic scene, realizing they couldn't stay.
Brandon nodded. Evelyn pushed Joshua out of the VIP lounge, with Brandon covering them. Soon, a few more allies joined in; these were the last of their crew.
Most of their people had already left the country, leaving just a few to protect them. They were supposed to leave soon, but now...
Evelyn pushed Joshua toward the exit, but Brandon stopped her. "Ms. Kyte, get on the plane!"
Evelyn frowned. "I'm not leaving with you. If you wanna save Joshua, let me take him to Golombia Hospital."
But instead of agreeing, Brandon pointed his gun at her. "Ms. Kyte, Mr. Garcia might like you, but I don't. If it weren't for him, you'd be dead already. Now, get on the plane!"
With the enemies making their move, staying was a death sentence. He had to take Evelyn, or Joshua would come back for her.
Evelyn gritted her teeth. "Brandon!"
"If you don't go, we're all dead!" Brandon's stubbornness left Evelyn stuck.
Joshua was unconscious, bleeding out. Evelyn shouted, "He needs a doctor now! If you put him on that plane, he'll die!"
"Not your problem!" Brandon sneered. He was confident Joshua would survive the flight.
Just then, Dermot burst in.
He wasn't worried about Evelyn leaving with Joshua, but he came to the airport anyway, just in case.
"Evelyn!" Dermot was furious seeing Brandon's gun on her. "Let her go, and I'll let Joshua leave."
His backup was on the way. If Brandon let Evelyn go, she could ensure Joshua's safe departure.
But Brandon didn't care.
"Ms. Kyte, do you wanna watch Mr. Garcia die? Every second you waste, he gets closer to death," Brandon pressed.
Evelyn looked at the unconscious Joshua, unable to ignore his life.
So, when Brandon shoved her toward the gate, she didn't resist.
"Evelyn! Don't go!" Dermot followed, but Brandon's men shot at him. They were leaving, so they didn't care about killing Dermot.
Evelyn gave a bitter smile and shook her head at Dermot, signaling him not to risk it. "Dermot, I'll be back."
