Chapter 327 Don't Be Too Pleased with Yourself
Evelyn sat on the sofa and looked up at Emily, saying, "Do I need to explain my relationship with him to you?"
"Evelyn! Don't be too pleased with yourself! Aidan is definitely mine!" Emily shouted angrily, showing a hint of desperation.
Evelyn sneered, stood up, and confronted her, "Instead of thinking about these things, why don't you focus on your work?"
"I...I am focused on my work, I go to work every day!" Emily defended herself, but she felt a bit guilty and dared not hold Evelyn's gaze.
"Yes, you go to work every day," Evelyn smiled, but her smile did not reach her eyes, "but it's just...every day."
"Are they playing games and using their phones during work hours?"
"You're talking nonsense, I didn't do that!" Emily defended, refusing to admit it.
Evelyn was speechless and handed Emily the surveillance video that Sarah had sent her. "No? Then what is this? Didn't anyone tell you that the office area is under surveillance?"
Emily froze, she hadn't expected this.
"Well... why didn't anyone tell me?" she muttered softly.
"What difference would it make if someone had told you? Would you just find another place without surveillance to continue playing on your phone?" Evelyn sneered, having lost all hope for Emily.
Initially, Evelyn had thought that since she was her uncle's only daughter, if she could work properly, Evelyn wouldn't mind investing more in her development. She didn't want her to miss out.
But now... Evelyn felt that her own thoughts were naive and even somewhat ridiculous.
Right from the start, Emily had no intention of working properly. It was obvious she had come for Dermot.
"Isn't that your friend's company? What's wrong with playing on my phone for a bit?" Emily stubbornly held her ground, confident that Evelyn wouldn't dare to fire her.
Evelyn was shocked by her shameless attitude and seriously doubted if Emily was truly her uncle's daughter. "You want to play on your phone, right? Fine. Pack your things and leave tomorrow. From now on, you can play however you want, it has nothing to do with me!"
She decided not to indulge her anymore, even if it meant hurting her uncle.
Emily was stunned, never expecting that Evelyn would actually make her leave. "I won't go back! You promised my dad to take care of me, is this how you take care?"
"I only promised Uncle Dermot to find you a job," Evelyn coldly replied with no hint of emotion.
"I don't care, I won't go." Emily sat down on the sofa, refusing to leave.
Evelyn couldn't help but laugh at her stubbornness, she rolled up her sleeves and rubbed her wrists. "What's this? Do you want me to take matters into my own hands?"
Emily was frightened by her intimidating appearance and couldn't help but step back. "Evelyn, I know I was wrong. Please give me another chance."
"You know you were wrong?" Evelyn looked at her, not believing her for a second.
"Yes, yes, I promise to work properly from now on, and I will never play on my phone during work hours." She spoke sincerely, but deep down she couldn't help but curse Evelyn as useless.
She had even claimed that she knew people at the company, and she couldn't even handle such a small matter. No wonder the villagers thought she was doing well in Moris City.
Evelyn clearly saw through Emily's little tricks. Making a fuss about it tonight was not necessarily about kicking her out for real.
Sending her back after only a few days in Moris City would not only disturb her aunt, but even her uncle would feel bad.
She pretended to be hesitant and said, "Well, giving you another chance is not impossible, but you must work properly and not be late."
During this period of time, Emily had been late quite often.
Sure enough, when she heard that she couldn't be late, Emily's expression turned sour. "
