Chapter 442 Scheming
If Dermot had discussed it with her from the beginning, maybe she would have agreed to pretend to break up. But he was a man, who didn't discuss it with her, and made the decision on his own, regardless of whether it would hurt her or not. She wouldn't forgive him for this.
Hearing her words, Dermot felt disappointed, "Fine, this time it's my fault, and it's only right that you punish me."
"It's late, I need to rest," Evelyn got up and walked towards the room, not intending to continue the conversation with Dermot. She had learned what she needed to know. Whether it's true or not, it's the answer Dermot gave her.
Watching Evelyn close the door to her room, Dermot remained sitting on the sofa in the living room. After a while, he sighed helplessly and finally got up to go back to the guest room to rest.
In Moris City and the family Mansion, Dermot dismissed Benjamin from the position of chairman. When he had done this, he became idle and had nothing else on his mind except hatred.
Benjamin’s appearance made Grandpa Doyle uncomfortable. He tried to console him, "If you really want to do something, I'll have Dermot assign a company under the group for you to manage."
"I don't want his charity," Benjamin angrily retorted. He was Grandpa Doyle's son, and the Doyle Group should have been inherited by him. Why should he have to rely on Dermot's charity now?
"Benjamin, don't you feel indebted to Dermot?" Grandpa Doyle looked at him, feeling some regret seeing him like this. How could he have such a son?
Benjamin was taken aback and said coldly, "Why should I feel indebted to him? He has been living well in the Doyle family all these years and now he's the president of the Doyle Group. Isn't he better off than me?"
Grandpa Doyle shook his head, considering him beyond redemption. "He is your son, but are you even qualified, to be his father?"
This statement left Benjamin silent for a long time. "Is there any point in talking about these things now?"
Whether qualified or not, it doesn't matter anymore. What he meant was that he and Dermot, father and son, were destined to never get along peacefully.
"I just don't understand, isn't Evelyn just an ordinary doctor? How could you agree to her being with Dermot?" Others may not understand Grandpa Doyle, but could he not understand himself as a father?
His whole life was devoted to expanding the Doyle Group. In this situation, he should have introduced Dermot to a wealthy heiress instead of agreeing to him being with Evelyn.
At this point, Grandpa Doyle didn't want to hide it from him anymore. "Evelyn's identity is not as simple as you think."
He was worried that if he didn't say it now, knowing Benjamin's personality, he might do something unpredictable. He roughly explained Evelyn's background to Benjamin and instructed him, to not tell anyone!
Benjamin didn't respond, but there was a peculiar gleam in his eyes. So that's how it is, no wonder Grandpa Doyle agreed, no wonder Dermot refused to give up. This grandfather and grandson really knew how to scheme!
The Top Ten Families of Columbia... How could they leave such good fortune to Dermot?
He thought to himself, already having other plans in mind.
However, Grandpa Doyle had no idea at this moment. He thought that after explaining everything to him, Benjamin would stop trying to prevent Dermot and Evelyn from being together.
After leaving Doyal Mansion, Benjamin returned to his own home. He didn't live in the Doyal Mansion but had a place not too far from it. Of course, outsiders thought he lived alone, but who knew there was another person in the house.
"Approach that woman named Evelyn and make her fall for you." In the darkness, he said to the person sitting in the living room.
That person looked up and scoffed, "Why?"
"Haven't you always wanted to trample Dermot under your feet? Making her fall for you would accomplish that." Benjamin chuckled.
That person seemed interested, pondered for a moment, and snapped their fingers, "No problem."
