Chapter 1111: Is There Anything Unusual

This city ain't the fanciest spot in Ameriland, but it's alright, just a bit of a mess.

Evelyn thought about it and figured it made sense; the crazier the place, the better it was for someone like Joshua.

She was stressing about getting the word out.

But Evelyn didn't need to worry 'cause when Joshua's plane touched down at Danista Airport, Dermot was already in the loop.

Right then, across from the airport, Dermot was peeping through binoculars, watching Joshua and his crew stroll out.

Maybe 'cause it was his home turf, Joshua wasn't sweating it and didn't bother with any disguise, so Dermot had a clear view of their moves.

He spotted Evelyn and noticed she looked skinnier, guessing she must've had a rough time, which made his heart ache.

Joshua and his crew left the airport and hopped into a car waiting at the entrance.

Dermot tailed them with his guys and had someone slap a tracker on Joshua's plane to keep tabs on them.

"Where you wanna go?" Joshua asked Evelyn next to him, his voice super soft.

Evelyn glanced out the window. She wasn't really into any place, but she couldn't say that.

She needed to stick around the city to find a chance to drop a message for Aidan, Niall, or Dermot.

She knew they'd definitely come looking for her.

"Let's hit the mall. I need some clothes." The few clothes she had were given by someone on the island. She came in such a rush that she didn't have any clothes with her.

Hearing this, Joshua felt a bit awkward. "My bad."

"To the mall," Joshua ordered, and the car headed to the nearest one.

Soon, they rolled up to the mall. Joshua took Evelyn shopping, buying anything that caught her eye.

Evelyn felt kinda helpless. She quickly spotted something she liked, and just as Joshua was about to pay, she hurriedly said, "Let me try it on first. What if it doesn't look good?"

"Everything looks good on you," Joshua shot back.

Evelyn couldn't help but roll her eyes at him. This wasn't shopping; it was just buying everything in sight.

If they kept this up, they'd be back on the island in no time. How could she stall then?

Joshua grinned and didn't argue, "Alright, go try it on."

With his okay, Evelyn grabbed the clothes and headed to the fitting room.

Once she was inside, Joshua's smile vanished. "Any unusual activity around?"

"Nothing so far," Brandon replied.

"Stay sharp. Dermot and his crew won't back off easy," Joshua ordered. He knew Evelyn wanted to come to the city mainly to pass a message to Dermot and the others.

But he didn't care. On his own turf, he wasn't scared of Dermot.

From the fitting room came Evelyn's voice. "Can someone help me with the zipper?"

A salesperson immediately went in. Though Joshua frowned, he didn't say anything.

With his people all around, he wasn't worried about Evelyn making a run for it.

In the fitting room, Evelyn asked the salesperson to help with the zipper and made some small talk.

Just as she was about to ask the staff to lend her a phone, Joshua's voice came from the door. "Evelyn, you done yet?"

Cold sweat broke out on Evelyn's back, and she quickly replied, "Almost."

Evelyn was super nervous. She hadn't gotten the phone yet, nor had she sent a message to Dermot. If she missed this shot, who knew when the next chance would come?
