Chapter 1365 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (40)
At six sharp, Aidan's car rolled up to the villa. He strolled in just as the stylists were putting the final touches on Phoebe's gown.
Aidan's eyes landed on Phoebe, standing there in the living room, rocking a black dress. He couldn't help but feel a little something, even if he didn't want to admit it.
"Mr. Brooks," someone called out, noticing him. Soon, all eyes, including Phoebe's, were on him.
Phoebe flashed him a smile. "How do I look?"
"Pretty damn good," Aidan admitted, even though he usually wouldn't.
Phoebe looked a bit taken aback by his compliment. She didn't expect him to actually answer.
The stylist kept fussing with Phoebe's hair as Aidan moved closer. He could see her reflection in the mirror, her playful beauty making her even more irresistible. His eyes drifted to her bare neck. "Your neck looks kinda empty."
"Don't worry, Mr. Brooks. We've got a necklace ready," the stylist said, pulling out a limited edition piece.
The three-carat diamond necklace was flashy on its own, but on Phoebe, it seemed to fade into the background.
Aidan wasn't impressed. He pulled out his phone and shot a message to his assistant.
"Mr. Brooks, it's done," the stylist said, stepping aside so Aidan could get a good look at Phoebe.
Their eyes met, and for a moment, there was a mix of emotions between them.
Aidan cleared his throat, breaking the tension. "Hold on a sec."
"Hold on for what?" Phoebe asked, looking confused.
Aidan didn't answer, just told her to wait. Soon enough, his assistant showed up.
The assistant carried a box and set it on the table. "Mr. Brooks, here's what you asked for."
The assistant had hustled hard; one message from Aidan and he had to rush to the store. The store didn't want to sell their prized possession, so they had to pay extra to get it. The assistant even thought about running off with it, but he didn't have the guts.
"Put it on her," Aidan told the stylist.
The stylist was about to step forward when Aidan changed his mind. "Never mind. You all can leave."
The stylists exchanged puzzled looks but didn't ask questions. They quickly packed up and left.
Once they were alone, Aidan walked over to the box and called Phoebe to sit down.
"What's in there?" Phoebe asked, leaning in. When she saw the dazzling necklace inside, she was stunned.
The diamond on the necklace was easily ten carats. Calling it priceless wasn't an exaggeration.
While Phoebe was still in shock, Aidan took off the old necklace and put the new one on her. He stepped back, took a good look, and nodded. "Perfect."
"This is way too much," Phoebe said, reaching to take it off. Even with the Irvine family, she'd never worn something this valuable.
