Chapter 163 Feeling Inexplicably Frustrated
Barberts Apartment. Evelyn finished showering and reached for her phone, seeing a missed call notification.
She opened it and was surprised to see that it was Dermot calling.
After thinking for a moment, she decided to call him back.
However, the phone rang for a long time without anyone answering. When the call was finally disconnected, Evelyn furrowed her brows and muttered to herself, "What's going on?"
She threw the phone aside and lay on the bed, preparing to sleep.
Five minutes later, she turned over and picked up her phone again, calling Dermot once more.
Dermot rarely called her, and it was even rarer for him to not answer her call. All of a sudden, Evelyn thought of those few people who had been staring at them in the supermarket that day.
Perhaps they weren't after her, but after Dermot?
Thinking of this, she couldn't help but feel a bit worried.
Dermot still didn’t answer the call. Evelyn didn't give up and call him again.
Just as she thought no one would pick up, the call went through, and she hurriedly asked, "Dermot, are you okay? Why didn't you answer the call just now..."
"Ms. Kyte?"
The voice wasn't Dermot's, but the person she disliked, Natalie.
"Dermot is taking a shower. Do you have something urgent to tell him? Do you need me to call him for you?" Natalie said, even opening the speaker function so that Evelyn could hear the sound of water coming from the bathroom.
Evelyn held the phone and for a moment. She didn't know what to say.
She felt silly at this moment.
Who is Dermot? Could something happen to him? She was really overthinking!
Since he was with Natalie, why bother calling her? Was it to provoke her?
"Ms. Kyte?" Without waiting for Evelyn's response, Natalie spoke again.
"No thanks," Evelyn refused, coldly saying, "I called the wrong person."
"Oh," Natalie's words had just finished when Evelyn hung up the call.
Natalie held the phone with a cold smile, turned off the shower, and walked out of the bathroom.
Staring at the man lying on the bed, she smirked and took off her own clothes.
That night, Evelyn slept poorly, dreaming all night, but when she woke up, she couldn't remember what she had dreamt about.
Getting up tiredly, she cooked herself breakfast.
It’s Sunday. She doesn't have to go to work at the hospital. It's a rare day off.
But she didn't want to rest. She planned to have breakfast and then find Aidan, to investigate the Barns family and ask for his help in the clothing brand.
Dermot unintentionally popped into her mind while she thought about these.
Feeling inexplicably frustrated.
She patted her cheeks and stopped thinking. What does that man have to do with her?
Bad luck!
At this moment, Evelyn had no idea that a shocking news had already exploded on the internet, and Dermot was the protagonist.
When he woke up, he was naked, with Natalie lying next to him, also without any clothes on.
But that wasn't the worst part; before he could even question her, a large group of reporters burst in with their cameras and started taking all sorts of pictures.
By the time Todd arrived, the reporters had already released the photos, so it was too late to stop them.
Inside the room, the reporters were all driven out, and Dermot, with a cold expression, stared at Natalie, who was sitting on the ground, lacking any warmth in his eyes.
"I considered you a friend, so I drank with you. This is how you treat me?" he asked, his voice cold but calm.
