Chapter 1152: You Started It
The plane shot off toward Golombia, and as soon as Evelyn got on, she was out like a light, snoozing on Dermot's shoulder.
Dermot waved down the flight attendant for a blanket and gently wrapped it around Evelyn. His eyes were all soft and mushy, making the nearby stewardess a bit green with envy.
She couldn't help but ask, "Sir, is this your wife?"
"Not yet, she's my girlfriend," Dermot said, not really thinking about it, his eyes glued to Evelyn.
The stewardess perked up when she heard Evelyn was just the girlfriend. These days, even marriages were shaky, let alone dating. Who knew how long they'd last, even if they were all lovey-dovey now? She mustered up the courage and asked, "Hey, can I get your number? Just in case the company has any events, I can let you know."
Dermot sensed something was off.
He looked up, locking eyes with the stewardess.
She quickly fixed her hair and flashed a flirty smile.
"No need." Dermot looked away fast. He just wanted to see what kind of woman would be so clueless. Couldn't she see Evelyn right there and still try to hit on him?
The stewardess's face went stiff, totally shocked. This was the first time she'd been turned down.
He was young, good-looking, and sitting in first class, so he probably wasn't broke. But then again, the people she usually served weren't exactly poor either.
"Sir, don't misunderstand..."
"Can you shut up? Can't you see my girlfriend is resting?" Dermot's tone got sharp. If it wasn't for Evelyn, he'd have lost it.
The stewardess's face went pale, totally stunned.
Just as she was about to say something, the purser pulled her away. "Mr. Doyle, I'm so sorry for the disturbance."
Then, she dragged the young stewardess away, and Dermot finally got some peace.
When he turned to look at Evelyn, he noticed she had opened her eyes at some point, looking a bit annoyed. "Did I wake you?"
"She hit on you right in front of me, and if I don't wake up, who knows what'll happen?" Evelyn said with a smirk.
Dermot pulled her back into his arms, "Don't worry. I don't like anyone but you."
"Really? I thought that girl was pretty cute." If Evelyn were a guy, it would be hard to resist. After all, if someone offered themselves, there was no need to take responsibility after a night.
Dermot rolled his eyes at her, a bit annoyed. "You think I'm that kind of guy?"
Evelyn stayed quiet, seemingly really thinking about what kind of person Dermot was.
Dermot's face darkened, and he bit Evelyn's lip. "That's too much!"
Evelyn chuckled, pushing Dermot away. "Don't bother me; I want to sleep."
"You started it, okay?" Dermot felt very wronged.
Evelyn couldn't be bothered with him, closed her eyes, and fell asleep again. As for the stewardess, she didn't really care; she was just a bit annoyed at being woken up.
In the crew rest area, the young stewardess was pulled in. Just as she was about to speak, the purser sternly scolded, "What are you doing? Don't you know it's work time?"
"I was just trying to take better care of our first-class passengers," the flight attendant defended herself, annoyed at being called out.
