Chapter 436 So Unlucky!
In the evening, at the Kyte family castle, Blake returned home after socializing. Dora and Lucia were in the living room. When they saw him come back, Lucia immediately approached him and supported him.
“Dad, why did you drink so much again?”
"I'm fine." Blake waved his hand, allowing Lucia to assist him to the sofa. Lucia got up to pour him a glass of water and handed it to him before giving him a shoulder massage.
“Dad, ’'ve told you before not to overwork yourself. Mom and I both worry about you”"
Upon hearing this, Dora snorted coldly but remained silent. Lucia, feeling helpless, rolled her eyes at herself. Dora, gestured for her not to speak, or they would argue again.
Blake had some patience for his daughter. "Hmm, I'll pay more attention next time."
Lucia muttered, feeling a bit unhappy. Seeing this, Blake changed the topic and said, "Grandpa Doyle from the Hamilton family is in the hospital. You should visit him tomorrow."
Although he did not explicitly say it to anyone, it was obvious that Dora was responsible for such matters.
"Okay." Dora nodded. She had known about this matter for a while now, and even if Blake hadn't mention it, she would have arranged for someone to go. Someone would go, not her personally.
As the mistress of one of the top ten families in Colombia, the Hamilton family, a second-rate family like them did not deserve her personal visit.
"Mom and I were just discussing this," Lucia also became interested. She had a whole day to find out everything.
"Greg brought that woman home, but his parents disagreed, so they quarreled with Grandpa Doyle. Grandpa Doyle got too excited and had a cerebral hemorrhage," Lucia said.
Blake didn't know the details and wasn't interested. He just felt that with the current situation of the Hamilton family, many people would probably seize the opportunity, to add to their troubles, and he didn't know if the kid from the Hamilton family could hold up.
"I heard the woman's name is Evelyn, and she has the same surname, Kyte, as me. What a coincidence," Lucia said. She looked down on women from small towns, so she cared a lot about their surnames.
In her eyes, Kyte was noble. As one of the top ten families in Colombia, she had been a pride of heaven since she was young. How could she tolerate a woman from a small place having the same surname as her?
Before Blake came back, she was discussing with her mother whether they should find that woman and make her change her surname. Of course, she didn't dare say such things in front of Blake. She knew that her father was against bullying.
However, Blake was stunned when he heard Evelyn's name. His eyes were filled with disbelief. "What did you say her name was?"
"Evelyn, what's wrong, Dad?" Lucia looked at her father in confusion, not understanding why he asked again.
Shaking his head, Blake said, "Nothing, I just think it's quite a coincidence that she also has the surname Kyte."
“It’s not a coincidence at all, it’s just plain unlucky,” Lucia frowned, extremely dissatisfied.
But Blake was unhappy with her words and rebuked, "Lucia, how did your father teach you in your daily life?"
Lucia lowered her head, daring not meet Blake's gaze. "The Kyte family may have some money, but that doesn't mean they can act lawlessly. They just have the surname Kyte, why does that make them lucky?"
He was not very pleased, feeling that Dora had taught their daughter badly. She didn’t learn the good aspects but manages to learn a bunch of bad ones. Lucia pursed her lips, feeling a bit distressed.
Lucia asked, "Dad, why are you scolding me because of a stranger?"
“It’s not about being a stranger or not, it’s about your conduct as a person,” Blake lectured.
However, Lucia couldn't accept any of this, and knew that her father was scolding her because of a stranger, which instantly sparked animosity towards Evelyn, whom she had never seen before.
Who did this woman think she was, a person from a small place, daring to let her father scold her? She was asking for trouble!
