Chapter 1144: Do I Have a Choice

The book in her hand was totally forgotten as she kept staring at Dermot, like she could never get enough of him.

Her gaze was so intense that even though Dermot was deep in his work, he could still feel it.

But he didn't say a word, acting like he didn't notice, and kept working, though he was a bit distracted.

In a blink, Evelyn was already at his desk.

Evelyn gave a light knock on the desk. "You're distracted."

Dermot looked up at her, finding her even more irresistible. "Yeah. Your intense stare threw me off," he admitted.

"Done with your work?" Evelyn asked.

"Whatever works," Dermot replied.

Evelyn chuckled, "Whatever works?"

"What do you wanna do? If you wanna get close, then I'm done. If not, I'll keep working." Dermot's words were blunt, and his actions even more so.

Next thing she knew, Evelyn was already in Dermot's arms. "Which one do you choose?"

Leaning against Dermot's strong chest, listening to his heartbeat, Evelyn couldn't help but blush. "Do I even have a choice?"

Evelyn was already in his arms, and he was still asking her to choose. Wasn't he just teasing her?

Dermot didn't waste any time, lowering his head to kiss Evelyn's lips, both forceful and gentle.

Evelyn responded passionately, having imagined this scene while watching Dermot from the sofa.

As their kiss grew more intense, clothes started disappearing, leading to a night of passion and closeness.

On the plane, Evelyn took a nap, and when she woke up, the plane was landing.

"Awake?" Dermot closed the file in his hand and looked at Evelyn beside him. "We're almost there."

"Yeah, didn't you rest a bit?" Evelyn couldn't help but marvel at Dermot's energy. They had been up late last night, and he got up early to catch the flight, still full of energy reading files. She couldn't help but be impressed.

Dermot leaned closer and whispered in her ear, "I'm not tired."

His voice was particularly tender, leaving it unclear whether he meant he wasn't tired from reading files or from last night.

Evelyn rolled her eyes at him. Dermot shrugged and joked, "You were exhausted last night, right?"

Evelyn turned her gaze to the other side, her earlobes reddening as she thought of something.

Dermot didn't tease her further, clearing his throat and becoming serious. "After we see Grandpa, I'll take you to Tara Village."

They would be visiting Moris City less and less in the future. But Dermot still hoped to take Evelyn to see the place where she grew up.

Evelyn was stunned; she hadn't thought of this before coming. "Okay."

Even though most of the people she knew in Tara Village had left, she still wanted to go back to visit the gravesite of her late grandfather.

"Henry really doesn't want to come live with us in Golombia?" Evelyn was a bit worried, given Henry's current condition.

Speaking of this, Dermot couldn't help but sigh, "I tried to persuade him, but he doesn't want to."

Dermot could understand. Henry had spent almost his entire life in Moris City; it was his hometown, and it was normal that he didn't want to leave.

Moreover, Henry's condition was getting worse. He was probably afraid that if he went to Golombia, he wouldn't be able to come back, not wanting to pass away in another city.
