Chapter 1347 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (22)

Seeing Evelyn and Niall both had gifts for Theodore, Phoebe felt super awkward and quickly waved her hand, saying, "No need, it's the thought that counts. He's still young and doesn't need any gifts."

"Take it," Evelyn insisted, handing it to Phoebe. "Theodore's still young, so you can keep it for him."

Phoebe was stuck, not sure if she should accept it or not, and looked to Aidan for some backup.

"Take it, it's their duty to give it," Aidan said. One was an uncle, and the other was an aunt; it was only right for them to give a gift.

Since Aidan said so, Phoebe didn't refuse anymore and reached out to take it. "I'll keep it for Theodore for now and give it to him when he grows up."

With the gift-giving done, the group got back to eating.

After the meal, the party wasn't over. Aidan had lined up other activities and had booked the entire hotel for the day, so all the guests could have a blast.

After lunch, Evelyn stuck close to Phoebe. She really liked Theodore, who was so soft and cuddly that she just wanted to pinch him.

In the banquet hall, Aidan, after mingling with the guests, sat alone by the pool, lost in thought.

"Aidan, what are you thinking about?" Niall showed up beside him and plopped down on a nearby lounge chair.

Aidan opened his eyes and saw Niall next to him. "Why don't you go hang with Lily?"

Ever since Niall got hitched, he and Lily were practically glued together. Every time Aidan called him, he was always with Lily.

"Of course, I need to keep Lily company, but I can't ignore you either," Niall said, touching his nose, knowing Aidan was teasing him.

"Come on, don't be so cheesy." Aidan sat up straight. He felt he was doing fine today and was in a good mood.

Niall looked at him and decided to be straight-up. "Evelyn and I are both married now, and you're still single. We're worried about you."

"So you're here to push me to get married?" Aidan was exasperated.

Married people were different. Niall used to scoff at the idea of marriage, but now he was even pushing him to get married?

Niall felt a bit awkward but pressed on. "Sort of. We won't be at ease until we see you married."

"Do I need you to worry about me?" Aidan didn't think there was anything to worry about.

But Niall didn't see it that way. "If you don't get married, who knows when you might suddenly decide to go to a Catholic church? I don't want you to become a clergyman."

Aidan fell silent.

"Don't worry. When the time is right, I'll get married," he said. He didn't say he wouldn't get married, just that the time hadn't come yet.

"What do you mean by the right time? Isn't your relationship with Phoebe fate?" Niall thought Aidan and Phoebe were quite fated.

Although there was just a one-night stand, Aidan and Phoebe later had a baby and now lived together. Wasn't that fate?

Hearing Phoebe's name, Aidan's face darkened. "Did she ask you to talk me down?"

"She wouldn't ask me to say this. It's my own idea. When you and Phoebe stood on stage holding Theodore, you looked like a family. I think it would be great if you were together," Niall explained.

Aidan remained silent.

Niall continued, "Aidan, think about it. She's been through so much, giving birth to Theodore for you. Now she's unwell, with her illness potentially recurring at any time. Don't you feel any sympathy for her?"
