Chapter 1401 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (76)
That afternoon, Aidan announced the termination of his engagement with the Graves Family and he rejected all the calls from Ariana.
When he found Phoebe, she was strolling around the neighborhood with Theodore. She hadn't been following any news about Aidan for a while and suddenly felt that this wasn't so bad. She now had Theodore to focus on and didn't care as much about Aidan anymore.
However, when Aidan suddenly appeared in front of her, she couldn't help but feel her heart race a bit.
"Why are you here?" Phoebe snapped back to reality and asked.
Aidan chuckled lightly and directly pulled her into his arms. "Didn't you say that once I sorted everything out, I could come find you?"
Phoebe was stunned, somewhat in disbelief. "So, you mean you've sorted everything out?"
"Haven't you seen the news?" Aidan asked helplessly.
"No, I didn't want to pay attention to that." Every time she saw the news about Aidan and Ariana, it only made her feel worse. So, she thought it was better not to pay attention to that at all.
Hearing this, Aidan felt a pang of heartache.
He knew it was all because of him that Phoebe didn't want to look at the news. He explained, "The Lowe Family has gone bankrupt. They won't pose any threat to us anymore, and I've also broken off my engagement with Ariana."
Hearing that, Phoebe felt like she was dreaming.
Since moving out of Evelyn's villa, she hadn't taken Aidan's words to heart or thought Aidan would come back for her. She had already prepared herself to spend the rest of her life with Theodore.
Unexpectedly, Aidan came back now.

"Phoebe, let me take care of you and Theodore from now on, okay?" Aidan finally said what he had always wanted to say.
Phoebe didn't answer, but her eyes were already red.
Aidan continued, "I love you, Phoebe, be with me forever."
Saying this took a lot of courage, but today, he finally said it.
Now, he realized it wasn't as hard as he had thought.
Tears streamed down Phoebe's face as she had waited far too long for these words.
"You won't leave me and Theodore again, right?" Phoebe asked.
Aidan nodded. "Never."
Hearing this, Phoebe nodded in agreement. This was what she had always wanted.
Aidan had done it, which meant he hadn't lied to her before. Phoebe was willing to give him another chance.
She knew she was easy to please and that it might make her less cherished, but in front of Aidan, she really had no resistance.
If Aidan beckoned to her, she knew she would immediately run to him.
She thought she had let go of her feelings for Aidan, but in reality, she hadn't at all.
Just then, a voice sounded.
"So, all the kindness you showed me before was fake, right?" Ariana appeared nearby at some point, and it was unclear how long she had been standing there.
Judging by her expression, she had probably heard quite a bit.
Aidan let go of Phoebe and shielded her behind him. "I'm sorry, that was my fault."
"Is a simple apology enough?" Ariana questioned.
"I can compensate you." Aidan knew Ariana was innocent in all this. Although he didn't like her, he wouldn't target her.
Hearing this, Ariana laughed, "Compensate? Do you think I need compensation?"
"Then what do you want me to do?" Aidan asked directly, his face cold.
With his attitude, Ariana didn't know what else to say. "Did you ever like me?"
"No," Aidan answered quickly, without any hesitation.
Getting his reply, Ariana didn't ask any more questions and turned to leave.
Aidan didn't know if she would hold a grudge against him, but he didn't want to care. He just wanted to be with Phoebe and Theodore now. As for everything else, that was out of his concern.
Phoebe, however, was a bit worried. "She won't do anything, will she?"
"Don't be afraid. I'm here. I'll protect you both from now on." He pulled Phoebe into his arms, his eyes full of love for her.
"Let me take you home, to our own home." With that, Aidan took Phoebe's hand and with the other hand, he picked up Theodore, leading them away.
Phoebe didn't refuse.
She really wanted a home, a home that belonged only to the three of them.
Now, her wish had finally come true.
Despite all the pain she had gone through, at this moment, Phoebe felt it was all worth it.
She looked at him and thought, 'Now that the unhappy days are over. The future will probably be filled with happiness. Aidan, don't let me down.'
