Chapter 934: You Win, Let Her Go
"Mr. Doyle, what are you talking about? Gerald was clearly killed by the Martin family, and the evidence is solid, right?" Dermot smiled, refusing to admit anything.
Randy wasn't interested in arguing. "Whether it was you or the Martins, we both know the truth. No point in pointless talk."
"So, Mr. Doyle, are you set on killing me today?" Dermot asked.
Randy frowned. Dermot didn't seem scared at all. Could he really not fear death? Impossible! Everyone fears death.
To avoid any mishaps, Randy stopped talking and signaled to Zachary. Zachary pulled a gun from his coat and tossed it in front of Dermot. "Mr. Doyle, go ahead."
Dermot chuckled. How straightforward.
"Mr. Doyle, why would I kill myself? Do you really think I'd die for Evelyn?" He picked up the gun but didn't use it.
The gun aimed at Evelyn's head was cocked, making it clear it was either him or her today.
Dermot's expression changed slightly. He was a bit scared. While he believed Randy wouldn't harm Evelyn due to the Kyte family's power, he didn't want to risk it.
With a helpless chuckle, he raised the gun. "Alright, you win. Let her go."
"Dermot, you have no leverage to negotiate," Randy said coldly. Letting Evelyn go was his decision.
Dermot's expression turned cold. "Really? If you don't let her go now, how can I be sure she'll be safe after I'm dead?"
"You know I have no reason to kill Evelyn unless I have no choice." As long as Dermot died, Evelyn would be safe. But if Dermot didn't comply, who knew?
Dermot wouldn't risk Evelyn's life. He toyed with the gun, then aimed it at Randy.
Bodyguards emerged, all pointing their guns at Dermot.
But Dermot didn't panic. He smiled. "Mr. Doyle, since you won't let her go, why don't we all die together?"
He was confident he could shoot Randy before anyone else fired. His only regret was not being able to save Evelyn.
He glanced at Evelyn, who showed no fear. She understood his actions.
Evelyn grinned, accepting whatever decision he made.
The tension was thick, and no one dared to shoot first.
Just then, a group burst in, surrounding Randy's bodyguards. Leading them was Joshua, who looked at Randy with murderous intent. "Let Evelyn go."
Randy glanced at him. He knew who Joshua was but hadn't taken him seriously, thinking he was just an ordinary guy, even if he married into the Kyte family. But now, it seemed he had underestimated Joshua.
