Chapter 1016: He Is Provoking
"I just moved in and plan to stay your neighbor." Dermot couldn't stand the idea of Evelyn spending all her time with Joshua. Even if she wasn't into Joshua now, who knew what could happen later?
Since last night, Dermot had decided Evelyn was his.
If Joshua wanted to compete, he'd better be ready.
Evelyn was speechless. Seeing Dermot on the second floor of the villa across the way, she knew he wasn't joking and didn't know what to say.
"Mr. Doyle, you sure have a lot of free time," Joshua snorted, trying to hide his anger.
"Not really; I'm just rich." Dermot hadn't taken over the Doyle family yet, but money was never an issue for him.
This made Joshua furious. Dermot was loaded. Even though Joshua worked hard abroad, he couldn't match Dermot's wealth.
Sometimes Joshua couldn't help but feel life was unfair.
Dermot was born into privilege, but Joshua believed hard work could close the gap. Yet, Dermot had a knack for making money.
The Irvine Group was run by Craig on paper, but everyone knew Dermot was the real boss.
And it wasn't just that; Dermot had assets worldwide. Even without the Doyle family, he was way richer than Joshua.
Plus, Dermot would likely take over the Doyle family soon.
Joshua scoffed, "No wonder you always smell like money."
"Mr. Garcia, I don't like your tone. You've made quite a bit yourself over the years." Dermot looked at him coldly. He knew all about Joshua's shady dealings abroad.
At least Dermot's money was clean. If it weren't for their past collaboration in killing Gerald and Dermot's promise to keep it from Evelyn, he would've already told her everything.
Joshua sensed the threat and glared at Dermot before turning to Evelyn, "Evelyn, I'm not feeling well. Can you wheel me back to my room?"
"What's wrong? Should I call a doctor?" Evelyn asked, worried.
Joshua shook his head. "No need; just a headache. I'll be fine after some sleep."
"Alright, but let me know if you feel worse." Evelyn wheeled him back inside. She didn't have time to chat with Dermot.
Dermot was clearly provoking Joshua. Though Evelyn was confused by their conversation, she sensed Dermot's hostility.
She understood why and couldn't entirely blame Dermot, but Joshua was a patient, and she hoped Dermot wouldn't provoke him right now.
As they left, Dermot noticed Joshua's smug smile.
He was provoking him.
As if to say, so what if you're rich? So what if you moved next door?
Evelyn would still stay by my side.
Dermot gritted his teeth, barely restraining himself from hitting Joshua.
After getting Joshua to his room, Evelyn went to hers. As she lay on her bed, she heard a knock on the window.
She lived on the second floor.
Curious, she got up and opened the window, seeing Dermot's smiling face.
Evelyn's window faced Dermot's study, and he had used a rod to knock on her window.
