Chapter 1267: I Won't Disappoint

In Moris City, Evelyn and Dermot strolled out of the airport and hopped into the car Bruce had brought to pick them up.

"Mr. Doyle, Mrs. Doyle," Bruce greeted them with a grin.

Evelyn blinked in surprise. "Bruce, we're not hitched yet. Just call me Evelyn."

"You're basically the lady of the Doyle family now. Despite the earlier drama, everything's back on track. I should be calling you Mrs. Doyle," Bruce said, beaming. He'd seen the rough patches Dermot and Evelyn had gone through.

Even though they weren't officially married, it was all the same to him. He would've called her that from the moment Dermot and Evelyn got together.

Evelyn was about to protest, but Dermot cut in, "Bruce is right. You're destined to be the lady of the Doyle family, so it's cool to call you that."

With Dermot and Bruce ganging up on her, Evelyn had no choice. She shrugged, "Alright, have it your way."

After all, she and Dermot were bound to tie the knot unless something crazy happened. No point in sweating the small stuff.

The car soon rolled up to Doyle Mansion. Henry had been waiting for them in the living room, peeking out the door every few minutes all morning.

When the car finally pulled in, he lit up with a smile. "You're finally here."

As he spoke, Dermot and Evelyn got out and headed straight for Henry.

"Evelyn, you're here," Henry said, already thinking of her as his granddaughter-in-law.

Evelyn walked up and took Henry's arm, smiling. "Henry, Dermot and I came to see you again. You're not sick of me yet, are you?"

"Of course not. I wish you and Dermot could stay with me all the time," but he knew that was a pipe dream.

Dermot had grown up and didn't need his protection anymore. All he could do now was not be a burden.

"Don't worry, we'll visit often. Or how about you come back to Golombia with us?" Evelyn thought it might be better if they all went back to Golombia, where she and Dermot could look after him.

But Henry shook his head and led Evelyn to sit down beside him. "Golombia's nice, but it's not for me. I still prefer Moris City. I've lived here for decades, and it's what I'm used to." Plus, Henry had some old buddies here. When he got bored, he could hang out with them.

If he really went to Golombia, he'd be stuck at home all day with nowhere to go.

Evelyn didn't push it. Dermot had already told her this would be his answer, so she wasn't surprised. "Alright, we respect your choice. If you want to go, we'll go. If not, we'll come to Moris City to see you."

"You're so thoughtful," Henry said with a happy smile.

The three of them took their seats while Bruce headed to the kitchen to check on lunch.

"Dermot, you didn't let me down," Henry said, looking at Dermot with satisfaction.

Dermot grinned. "Of course, I wouldn't disappoint."

Henry rolled his eyes and teased, "Oh please. I haven't forgotten how you insisted on not being with Evelyn back then."

"Grandpa, that was ages ago. Why are you still bringing it up?" Dermot sighed.

Henry chuckled, "I have to remind you to cherish the person in front of you and not wait until you lose them to appreciate them."

"I get it. I'll definitely cherish Evelyn this time." Even if Henry didn't say it, Dermot would cherish her.
