Chapter 706: I Hate It
After a while, Lucia eventually mustered the strength to stand on her own, propping herself against the wall. She glanced at Wade and Evelyn standing close by, appearing as though they were the genuine couple and she was merely an outsider.
In a flash, Lucia was overcome with emotions.
"Wade, I am your fiancée! How can you treat me like this?" Lucia held back her pain, tears welling up in her eyes as she looked at Wade.
Lucia believed that her actions would be acknowledged by Wade by now. She hoped that he would show some form of support at this critical juncture.
However, Wade remained silent. His gaze was icier than Evelyn's. He approached her, seized her jaw, and demanded, "Who gave you permission to be here? Who do you think you are?"
"If you wish to remain in the Allen family, you must endure it. Even if there is something occurring between Evelyn and me, you have no authority to speak on it," his voice was chilling, and his tight grasp on Lucia's jaw left a visible red mark."
Lucia cried in anger, but crying was the most useless thing; it only made Wade hate her more.
"Get out!" Wade waved his hand to let Lucia out. He didn't want to look at her for another second.
To be honest, seeing Lucia like this, Evelyn did feel a bit sorry for her.
But who could she blame? She had brought this trouble upon herself.
Lucia departed, and remaining there in such circumstances would only exacerbate matters for her.
Nonetheless, this did allow Evelyn to witness another side of Wade.
"Sorry for letting her affect your mood," Wade apologized to Evelyn, even feeling a bit ashamed to look at her.
Evelyn shook her head, unfazed by the situation. "Wade, if you have such strong feelings against her, why did you allow her to move in with you?"
Wade could easily brush off Lucia's presence. Despite their engagement, it held no significance to him. As long as they didn't tie the knot, his relationship with Lucia would remain unchanged.
In a matter of days, he planned to uncover some incriminating evidence on Lucia, providing a pretext to end the engagement. By then, even the Allen family would have no objections.
"Since she wants to be with me so badly, of course, I have to fulfill her wish." He just wondered if Lucia regretted it now.
Wade's face darkened, a side of him Evelyn rarely saw. "Do you plan to marry her?"
"Let's eat first." Wade didn't answer her question. Some things weren't up to him to decide.
Evelyn didn't ask further but she understood.
Lucia, who had left the restaurant, called Dora. Dora quickly arrived and took her to the hospital.
"Mom, I hate them," Lucia said, lying on the hospital bed, her eyes empty.
Seeing Lucia in this state, Dora felt a mix of pain and simmering resentment. "Don't worry, I'll assist you in seeking revenge on Evelyn for this."
"Can we really get revenge?" Lucia was unsure.
Seeing Lucia losing confidence, Dora was worried. She leaned in and whispered something in her ear. After she finished, Lucia's eyes lit up.
"Dora, are you serious? Can we really destroy the Kyte family?" At this moment, Lucia didn't care if she could take over the Kyte family, she just didn't want Evelyn to have it.
Without the Kyte family to shield her, Evelyn would be vulnerable to Lucia's influence. Dora made a subtle gesture and whispered, "I've informed Walter, and we have allies within the Kyte Group. Rest assured, a decisive blow will be dealt soon."
"Good, that's great." Lucia and Dora had the same thought. Since Blake was so biased, it would be better if the Kyte Group ceased to exist. Without it, what would Evelyn be?
