Chapter 199 No Giving Up
On the private plane back to Moris City, Evelyn looked at Ethan and Mia sitting next to her and smiled with relief.
These two chose to stay.
Evelyn knew it was their trust in her when they chose to leave Willowbrook with her.
Ahead, Dermot seemed to be discussing work. He must have accumulated a lot of things these past few days.
She leaned back in her seat. This time Dermot came to find her at all costs, even because she almost got into trouble. Now that they were back in Moris City, she didn't know how to face him.
Does that mean she has to be with him?
This is something she never thought about, when she decided to divorce, she wanted to have nothing to do with Dermot for the rest of her life.
Now not only does she have to deal with him, he even pursues her. This makes her feel uneasy in her heart.
Lost in thought, she unknowingly fell asleep. When she woke up again, she didn't know when Dermot sat next to her, with closed eyes, as if he was asleep.
The man's face was close, and Evelyn looked at him, her heartbeat accelerated. She didn't dare to breathe too loudly, afraid of waking up the man sleeping.
However, Dermot opened his eyes and met Evelyn's gaze.
Evelyn felt a sense of caught shame, her face turned red, and she turned her head away, "Are you awake?"
"Yeah," the man nodded. Evelyn's reactions were all seen by him.
"How much longer until we arrive?" Evelyn tried to change the subject, and her reddened cheeks slowly returned to normal.
Dermot looked at Todd, and the latter hurriedly answered, "We'll be there soon."
"Thank you," Evelyn thanked him, continuing to look ahead. Even though she knew Dermot was looking at her, she dares not turn her head to meet his gaze.
After a long time, Dermot said, "Are you shy?"
"Who's shy? I'm not," she denied, wondering how she could possibly be shy?
Dermot didn't argue with her, but instead said, "Can you give me a hint? What do I need to do to pursue you to be my girlfriend?"
Although Evelyn gave him a chance, for Dermot, who had never pursued a girl before, he was at a loss as to what to do.
Evelyn didn't expect him to ask so. After an awkward moment, she shook her head, "This depends on feelings. I suggest Mr. Doyle give up."
"Give up?" Dermot said, "Those two words are not in Dermot's dictionary."
"Oh," Evelyn glanced at him, not wanting to pay attention.
The plane landed, and everyone got off. Ethan and Mia timidly followed Evelyn, looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings.
Having grown up in Willowbrook, they had never seen such a bustling city. Everything here was novel to them, but at the same time, it was unfamiliar.
Evelyn held one hand of each child, comforting them, "Don't be afraid."
She felt the warmth in her palm, and both children felt reassured. They walked out of the airport together, getting into the car Dermot had prepared.
"Where to?" Dermot asked.
"Take me back to Barberts Apartment," Evelyn replied, "these two will stay with me for now until I have time to find them adoptive families."
"I will take care of finding them adoptive families since it was my suggestion," Dermot said to her, not wanting Evelyn to be too tired.
Upon Evelyn did not insist. Dermot was more capable in this aspect. "Alright, thank you," she said.
"No need to thank me," the man glanced at her, full of affection.
