Chapter 1322: How Did She End Up Like That

Three days later, Evelyn and Dermot hopped on a plane for their honeymoon.

First stop? Hiroth. It's got all these epic love legends. They might be total BS, but hey, they wanted to check it out.

Meanwhile, Blake and Bella kicked off their world tour. They didn't tag along with Evelyn and Dermot—who doesn't want some alone time, right?

But guess what? They bumped into someone they really didn't want to see on their first stop.

Hanel, their first destination, is this cute little country with killer views. Bella was all about the shopping, and Blake was just tagging along, carrying her bags.

Women and shopping, am I right? Doesn't matter how old they are, they go nuts for it.

"How about this one?" Bella asked, twirling in front of Blake in a new outfit.

Blake looked up and nodded. "Looks great."

Bella shot him a look. She'd tried on a million outfits, and he hadn't said a single one looked bad.

"Alright, let's get this one! Now, let's hit the next store." The sales assistant packed up their stuff, and Blake, now a human shopping cart, followed Bella into a handbag store.

"Welcome," the sales assistant said automatically. But when she saw who it was, she froze.

She wanted to vanish into thin air out of sheer embarrassment.

"Dora?" Blake frowned, surprised to see her working as a sales assistant.

He'd given Dora a ton of money when they split, enough for her to live like a queen forever.

Dora's face went pale, her eyes darting between Blake and Bella. "Sorry, you must be mistaken. I'm Bianca."

Blake stayed quiet.

He wanted to say, 'If you're not Dora, then who are you?' but Bella cut him off. "Sorry, our bad."

Bella dragged Blake out of the store, feeling super awkward.

Dora sighed in relief as they left.

She looked at Bella's fancy clothes and then at her own shabby outfit, feeling a stab of bitterness.

If Blake had loved her, she wouldn't be in this mess.

The divorce money? Long gone, swindled away.

Now, Dora was scraping by with odd jobs, her life way harder than it had been back home.

But she wasn't going back, even though her daughter was still there. Dora didn't want to face the ridicule or drag Lucia down.

She'd chosen this path, and she wasn't turning back, no matter how tough it got.

Lost in thought, another customer walked in, and Dora quickly snapped back to work. "Welcome."

Meanwhile, Bella pulled Blake into another store. Blake was still confused. "Bella, I'm sure that was Dora. Why did you..."

"Blake, do you think someone like her wants to be recognized in that state?" Bella, being a woman, got it.

So, she chose to spare Dora the embarrassment and dragged Blake away.

Bella's words made sense to Blake. "You're right. I'm just curious how she ended up like this. Even though I was mad during the divorce, I didn't shortchange her."

"Who knows? Sometimes, people's fates are just messed up." Bella didn't want to dig into it, and she didn't want Blake to either. Dora was his ex, and it was bound to be awkward.

Despite the awkwardness, Bella couldn't get mad at Blake. She wasn't some naive twenty-something anymore.

"So, what else do you wanna buy?" Blake quickly forgot about Dora and got back to shopping with Bella.
