Chapter 1106: I Will Bring Her Back
"What do you mean? We just gonna sit here and do nothing?" Niall was in total disbelief. After all these years, it was wild to think Joshua had climbed so high overseas.
How did he miss that Joshua had it in him to be a mercenary leader? Wasn't he always just tagging along with them?
The room went dead quiet. Aidan looked at Dermot, who was standing right in front of him. Even though he hated to admit it, he had to say, "Dermot, you're the only one who can save Evelyn now. I'm asking you to bring her back."
This was the moment Dermot had been waiting for. He smirked, "Even if you hadn't asked, I'd still bring her back."
"Thanks."
Dermot added, "But I hope when Evelyn's back, you'll respect her choices." Especially about their relationship, he didn't want Aidan butting in.
To Evelyn, Aidan still mattered. If he kept opposing, it would just make things tough for her.
Aidan got the hint and gave a bitter smile. "Don't worry. I'll respect Evelyn's wishes."
Even though he wasn't a fan of Dermot before, he only gave Evelyn advice, hoping she'd consider someone else, but he never forced her hand.
"Good," Dermot nodded, satisfied.
After Aidan and Niall left, Dermot didn't stick around at home but headed to the company.
He needed to go abroad himself, but before that, he had to make sure the Doyle Group was solid. He didn't want any mess while he was gone.
As night quietly fell, the lights were still burning in the Doyle Group's CEO office.
Meanwhile, on an island in Ameriland, the sun was just coming up.
Evelyn had slept on the plane, and when she woke up, they had already landed on the island.
"Get off the plane, we've arrived." Evelyn had no clue where they were, but she didn't ask much and followed Brandon off the plane.
She didn't see Joshua and got a bit worried. "Where's Joshua?"
"Mr. Garcia's been taken to the hospital. As for you..." Brandon glanced at her, thinking that since Evelyn knew everything, she probably wouldn't be too friendly to Joshua afterward.
Before Joshua woke up, Brandon figured he should teach her a lesson, make sure she knew the rules.
"Take her to the castle and lock her up. Don't let her escape before Mr. Garcia wakes up," Brandon ordered.
If Evelyn had been smart, she wouldn't have ended up a prisoner.
Sadly, Evelyn didn't get it.
Evelyn was thrown into a dark dungeon, and Brandon didn't even give her any food.
Time dragged on, and Evelyn got so hungry she lost track of time.
A day? Ten days?
Evelyn had no idea. She just knew she was about to die.
The iron door creaked open, and Evelyn thought it was Brandon. He often came, always asking the same annoying questions, which she was sick of.
Would she stay?
Would she be Joshua's girlfriend?
Would she submit?
'Damn it,' Evelyn cursed silently.
But when she managed to lift her head, she saw it wasn't Brandon but a stunningly beautiful woman.
She didn't know the woman, but the woman clearly had it out for her.
Mary Kelly suddenly stomped hard on Evelyn's wrist, snapping her out of her daze with the pain.
"Who are you?" Evelyn's voice, raspy and weak, surprised even herself. Was that really her voice?
