Chapter 1156: Do You Think This Is True

Evelyn rolled back home in the evening after a marathon of bridesmaid dress try-ons with Ruby. Sarah even treated them to dinner, which was a nice touch.

As she swung open the door, she spotted Dermot hustling in the living room. He glanced up, "Hey, you're back?"

"Yeah, you eaten yet?" Evelyn asked, a bit of concern in her voice.

Dermot shook his head. "Nah, was thinking of wrapping up this work first."

Without Evelyn around, he didn't even bother with food, just buried himself in work.

While they chatted, Evelyn had already walked over and plopped a takeout bag on the table. "Figured you wouldn't have eaten, so I brought you some grub."

"Sarah treated you, and you still snagged food? Didn't feel awkward?" Dermot teased, but he ditched his work and sat next to Evelyn, pulling her close.

Evelyn shrugged. "We're all buds; no biggie."

"True, you and Sarah are tight," Dermot said, opening the food container. With Evelyn back, he realized he was actually starving.

The dishes were all his faves, showing Evelyn had put some thought into it.

Dermot felt a warm fuzzy. "Evelyn, you're the best."

"It's just takeout, and you're this stoked?" If she cooked for him, would Dermot be over the moon?

Dermot dug in, nodding. "Of course, you never used to fuss over me like this. Means I'm getting more important to you, so yeah, I'm happy."

He was touched; it wasn't just about the food, it was about her caring more.

Evelyn rolled her eyes, pouting. "Stop dreaming; it's just leftovers."

Dermot just grinned, not arguing.

"When you guys had dinner, Keith didn't tag along, did he?" If he had, Dermot would be a bit miffed he didn't go too.

Luckily, Evelyn shook her head. "Nah, he didn't. He's probably swamped with wedding stuff."

Dermot nodded and joked, "Didn't think he'd be so serious. When he first said he was gonna chase Sarah, I thought he was just messing around."

"Yeah, me too." Evelyn had even warned Keith, but turns out he was serious about Sarah, and now they were tying the knot.

"When's it gonna be our turn?" Dermot sighed, munching away.

Evelyn rolled her eyes again and stood up. "You eat slow; I'm gonna crash."

"We not gonna chat a bit more?" Dermot asked.

"I got nothing to chat about with you." Evelyn waved him off and headed upstairs, leaving Dermot standing there.

Dermot watched her go, a wry smile on his face. "Alright, guess I gotta keep workin' at it!"

Two days later, it was Sarah and Keith's big day.

On the second floor of the hotel, there was a lounge where the bride, bridesmaids, and groomsmen were doing final prep.

Sarah clutched Evelyn's hand, looking a bit jittery. "Evelyn, is this real? Feels kinda surreal."

When she divorced Nolan, she swore off trusting men again.

But now, not only did she trust a guy again, she was about to marry Keith.

"Sarah, it's real," Evelyn said softly, trying to calm her down.

Sarah took a deep breath, trying to steady herself.
