Chapter 444 Are You Crazy?
"Is your grandfather doing well lately?" she asked with a smile, a smile that Dermot found even more disconcerting.
Dermot nodded, "He's doing fine. Do you need something from him?"
"Well, I have a little something I want to ask him," Evelyn didn't deny it, but she didn't plan on telling Dermot the specifics. In her opinion, Dermot didn't need to know everything, so there was no need to tell him. She didn't mention what it was, and Dermot didn't ask.
"Shall I take you to Doyal Mansion after we land?"
"No rush, let's wait a few days." Evelyn had a lot to take care of once she got back to Morris City. She still needed to inform the Kite family about the office space she had selected in Colombia and see if Ruby's parents had any objections.
Plus, now that she was back, she still had to go to work. Marina had mentioned that there were many people coming to see her for surgery these days, so she would probably be busy for before she could take a break.
Dermot didn't insist, "Okay, just let me know when you're ready. Anytime works."
"Okay, thank you," Evelyn expressed her gratitude. In truth, she could go and find Grandpa Doyle on her own, but she felt it wouldn't be appropriate considering the breakup.
Dermot didn't look happy as he listened to her gratitude. "Do you have to be so polite to me, Evey? You still haven't forgiven me?"
Evelyn remained silent. There were some things that, even if Dermot explained, she wouldn't necessarily believe. And even if she believed, forgiveness wouldn't come right away because the act of deception was there.
Seeing her like this, Dermot had nowhere to vent his frustration. In the end, he could only turn his head away, so she wouldn’t see his resentment.
The plane suddenly started descending, startling everyone on board. Screams filled the cabin.
The flight attendant quickly reassured everyone over the intercom, saying it was just encountering some turbulence and asking everyone to stay in their seats and not move around.
Turbulence? Evelyn looked at the bright sun outside the window and fell into deep thought.
The passengers in the cabin were soon comforted. Dermot and Evelyn's group were in business class, closer to the cockpit, they could clearly see the flight attendant rushing towards the cockpit in a hurry.
She could hear the flight attendant knocking on the cockpit door and asking what was going on, but there was no response. The flight attendant became flustered, and Evelyn sat up straight. Her instincts were always accurate when danger approached.
She stood up and walked towards the cockpit. "What's the situation?" she calmly asked.
"Miss, please return to your seat," the flight attendant tried to remain calm despite her inner agitation.
Evelyn didn't move and glanced at the closed cockpit door. "Something has probably happened inside. How many people are in there?"
"Just the captain and co-pilot," another flight attendant instinctively answered beside her.
Just as she finished speaking, another flight attendant spoke up, "Susie just went inside, she just delivered coffee."
"Susie?" Evelyn frowned. Before she could ask for more details about this Susie, the door of the driver's cabin opened. And there came Susie, as mentioned, except that she was holding a gun in her hand and looking down on everyone from a higher position.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please go to the cabin and take your seats. I don't want to point my gun at my dear colleagues," she chuckled at the crowd. With her gun in hand, she looked exactly like a devil from hell.
The flight attendants seemed unable to react. Someone who had a good relationship with Susie couldn't help but speak up, "Susie, what are you doing? Have you gone mad?"
