Chapter 146 You Don't Owe Me

What does it matter if he knows?

He has no evidence.

As for surveillance...

He looked around, knowing that such a place wouldn't have any.

He caught the sight of a two-story building, very close to the alley. Most importantly, there was surveillance outside the building, and the direction the surveillance faced was the alley.

Dermot hurried toward the two-story building.

Evelyn was taken out of the police station by Officer Rogers in the evening.

"Although there is evidence proving that you were knocked out, it still cannot prove that Kenny was not killed by you. You cannot leave Moris City recently and must be ready to be summoned by the police at any time."

"Okay," Evelyn said.

Officer Rogers had a kind face and thought to that such a well-behaved young girl could never be a murderer.

"Let's go." Officer Rogers looked at the car parked not far away and signaled her to go.

Evelyn didn't hesitate. The police station was not a good place, and she had no attachment to it.

On the roadside, Dermot was waiting there.

Evelyn looked at him, feeling complicated.

Officer Rogers told her that Dermot had found the evidence, and he emphasized that he found it, which was amusing.

However, Evelyn was still surprised.

She thought Aidan Niall would be the one to come to her rescue, but it turned out to be Dermot.

"Thank you," Evelyn thanked him, able to say those words.

The man smirked, enjoying it. "You're welcome, it's something I should do."

"No one should do anything, you don't owe me," she said.

Dermot thought that if they continued this conversation, they would end up on bad terms, so he stopped in time. "Let's get in the car first, I'll take you to some great place."

Evelyn didn't move, her gaze deep.

After a long while, she sighed. "Alright."

Having just helped her, she couldn't refuse when he turned around. To be honest, Evelyn couldn't bring to do something like that.

As they got in Dermot's car, Evelyn asked, "How is the recovery of the hotel's surveillance?"

"When I came to pick you up, Niall was still working on it. It should be done soon," Dermot said.

Evelyn decided to call Aidan to let him know she was safe.

After hanging up the phone, Dermot couldn't help but ask, "Do you have a good relationship with Aidan and them?"

"They are my brothers, there is-"

"The relationship is certainly good," Evelyn found Dermot's question strange. But Dermot was helpless; he couldn't just say that he noticed Aidan had ulterior motives towards her. If he dared to say it, Evelyn would surely get out of the car and never associate with him again.

"Who do you think is behind this? The other party is very clean, and no clues have been found so far," Dermot changed the topic, determined to win over Evelyn when possible, so that whatever scheme Aidan had wouldn't matter.

Upon Evelyn did not rush to answer but looked at Dermot meaningfully and asked, "What do you think?"

Dermot sighed, "your suspicion isn't unreasonable. It's just that I've known her for so many years and have always been unwilling to believe she could become so cruel."

He knew that Natalie had a high suspicion in this matter, but they had grown up together since childhood, and he had felt warmth from her back then. Dermot didn't want it to be her doing.

"People change, you might think you know her, but is that the case? Maybe what you know is just what she wants you to know," Evelyn said.

Dermot acknowledged her words, "You're right, maybe I'm still stuck in the past."
