Chapter 788 Dermot Had Regained His Memory
When the sunlight streamed into the hospital room, Dermot opened his eyes to see the faded ceiling above him.
He was momentarily dazed, then a flood of memories surged back, causing him to frown in pain.
Perhaps due to his accelerated heartbeat, the machine by his bed beeped, and a nurse rushed in immediately.
"Call the doctor right away," the nurse said to another.
One of them came in to check on Dermot, while the other went to get the doctor.
By the time the doctor arrived, Dermot had already returned to normal. He remembered everything but was unsure how to react.
After examining him, the doctor called out, "Mr. Doyle?"
Physically, there was nothing wrong, but the doctor noticed Dermot's mental state seemed off. He thought, 'Could there be another issue?'
"Yeah, I'm fine," he replied. Having undergone surgery and not eaten or drunk anything all day, his voice was a bit hoarse.
Since he could still speak and clearly express himself, the doctor felt there shouldn't be any significant issues.
"Transfer him to a regular room and have his family prepare some food and drink. Remind them not to let him eat too much," the doctor instructed before preparing to leave, but Dermot stopped him.
He asked, "Where's Dr. Kyte?"
When his memory returned, Evelyn was the first person he wanted to see, but she was also the one he feared seeing.
"Dr. Kyte is off today and not at the hospital," the doctor replied before leaving.
Soon, Dermot was transferred to a regular room, and Craig came in with freshly made porridge.
"Have some porridge first," Craig said, helping him sit up and feeding him with a spoon.
Dermot didn't react much; he ate as the spoon reached his mouth, which was a bit concerning.
After a few bites, Craig stopped feeding. "The doctor said you can't eat too much. A few bites are enough."
"Okay," Dermot responded, still somewhat dazed from the flood of memories.
Upon seeing this, Craig didn't know what to say. "Have you regained all your memories?"
"Yeah," Dermot replied again. After a moment, he looked at Craig and said, "Thank you for everything during this time."
Though his memory had returned, he hadn't forgotten what happened while he had amnesia. He was grateful to be friends with Craig.
"That's what friends are for," Craig said with a smile, not thinking there was anything to be thanked for.
He believed that if the roles were reversed, Dermot would have stood by him as well.
Although they had clashed a few times before because Dermot was helping Evelyn, it never truly affected their relationship.
Dermot didn't continue speaking, and seeing him like this, Craig was a bit worried. "Now that you have regained your memory, can you figure out your feelings for Evelyn?"
Dermot was silent, unsure of what to say.
"Alright, don't think too much about it right after waking up. Rest first, and you can think about these things later," Craig said, not pressing further.
He told Dermot to rest well and then prepared to leave.
As he was about to go, Dermot couldn't help but ask, "Where's Evelyn? Is she really not at the hospital?"
He had hoped that Evelyn would be at the hospital waiting for him to wake up, so he found it hard to believe when the doctor said she wasn't there.
Perhaps knowing what he was thinking, Craig kindly said, "She stayed until midnight last night before going home."
Just single sentence brought a smile to Dermot's face.
Craig shook his head, feeling helpless. He thought, 'How can he still be unaware of his feelings? Isn't it obvious?'
