Chapter 1345 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (20)
Even though Phoebe and Aidan weren't hitched, sticking together kept folks from gossiping about their relationship. This way, no one dared to roast them.
But now, it was clear they had no real feelings for each other. People would definitely talk smack behind their backs, and even Theodore would catch some flak.
When Evelyn pointed this out, Phoebe had an "oh crap" moment and said, "I didn't think it through."
She quickly stood next to Aidan, flashing a smile.
No matter how things were between her and Aidan at home, in front of others, they had to act like everything was cool, just not married.
Seeing Phoebe get it, Evelyn let out a sigh of relief.
She actually wanted to ask Aidan how he felt about Phoebe now, but with the big crowd today, she decided to save it for another time.
They rolled into the hotel and found their seats, only to see Niall and Lily were already there.
"Evelyn, you guys are really late," Niall said.
Evelyn shot him a look and teased, "Niall, ever since you got hitched, I hardly see you anymore. Have you forgotten about me now that you have Lily?"
Lily's cheeks turned red, and she glared at Niall.
Lily was kinda stuck. She had suggested before that Niall should invite Evelyn and the others for a meal, but Niall said it was unnecessary, claiming their bond was tight enough that they didn't need to stay in touch regularly and would naturally hit each other up when needed.
Lily was pretty naive about these things, so she bought everything Niall said. But when she heard Evelyn's comment, she didn't realize it was a joke and took it seriously.
Lily said, "I'm sorry, Evelyn, it's all my fault."
"What are you apologizing for? Silly goose," Niall cut in. "She's joking."
"Lily, I was joking," Evelyn echoed.
After calming Lily down, Niall looked at Evelyn. "Don't mess with her on purpose; she can't handle it."
Maybe because of how she grew up, Lily was super sensitive to what others said and did. She was always scared of ticking someone off and constantly worried about what people thought of her.
Basically, she was pretty hypersensitive.
"Got it, Niall. I didn't know you were such a doting husband." Before meeting Lily, Evelyn never thought Niall was this kind of guy.
"Of course, she's my wife." With that, Niall proudly pulled Lily into his arms.
Lily lowered her head, super shy.
Evelyn chuckled, "Yeah, only you can spoil Lily."
"What are you talking about? I don't spoil you enough?" Dermot also pulled her into his arms, jokingly. He wouldn't let his wife lose to anyone.
Evelyn looked at him competing even over this and felt helpless. "You spoil me a lot too."
"I have something important to share with you," Niall said, his face getting serious.
Evelyn looked over and heard him say, "I found my biological parents."
The smile on Evelyn's face vanished, and she got serious. "Biological parents?"
"Yeah," Niall nodded. "They're abroad. Actually, there was news about them before, but I didn't really want to look for them."
"But..." He glanced at Lily and continued, "Later, I thought since I knew about it, I should go see them. I didn't want to have any regrets."
"I didn't expect they really were my biological parents." He chuckled lightly, not expecting it to go so smoothly.
