Chapter 191 Fate Was Playing Against Them
Evelyn wanted to say that she didn't, she only couldn't deal with Natalie, who married into the Stanley family, because she didn't have the ability, not because of Dermot.

"Let me carry it for you." Evelyn was about to put on the emergency kit when Dermot reached out and took it.
Evelyn did not refuse. it is more important to save people first.
After the earthquake, Evelyn came to Willowbrook Elementary School with a group of people when possible and rescued several children. But then, they did not hear any more sounds. They couldn't keep delaying here.

Evelyn was about to join in the digging, but she was stopped by Dermot. "I'll go. You wait here. When people come out, you can rescue them."
"Alright," Evelyn nodded. She knew her abilities were limited, and rescuing people was the most important thing she could do.
everyone was fully engaged in the rescue efforts. During the satellite phone that Dermot had given Evelyn rang once. It was Todd calling.
The rescue team he was leading was close to Willowbrook and would arrive in no more than three hours. He asked them to stay safe.
Evelyn breathed a sigh of relief.
Once Todd's rescue team arrived, they would be able to pull out all the people buried in the village.
"There's a child down there!" someone shouted.
"Who's going in to carry the child out?"
No one spoke. Evelyn had almost not been able to come out when she went in to rescue people before. No one dared to guarantee that they had the same luck as Evelyn.
However, while everyone was still hesitating, Dermot had jumped into the hole.
"Hey!" the village chief sighed. He didn't expect that the two outsiders would be the ones sacrificing for their village.
"Someone takes the child."
Dermot's voice came from underground. The people snapped back to reality and silently took the child, bringing them to Evelyn.
Although Evelyn couldn't see what was happening ahead, she could hear the sounds and naturally knew that Dermot was the one rescuing people down there.
She didn't try to stop him. All she could do was pray for everything to be safe.
But it seemed like fate was playing against them. An aftershock came without any warning.
"Hurry, pull the people out!" the village chief shouted.
But when the villagers realized the aftershock was happening, they had run away first. The village chief could only watch as Dermot got blocked by debris at the entrance of the hole.
This aftershock lasted quite a long time, about five minutes. When the aftershock ended and the villagers returned to the front of the school, it was submerged. The opening where Evelyn was previously, was even more securely blocked than before.
"Can... can he survive?" a villager asked with disbelief.
"Of course, he can survive!" Evelyn rushed over when she heard that Dermot was buried below. She looked a bit disheveled at the moment.
Her eyes couldn't help but turn red, but she held back her tears and began to move rocks. "Dermot, I will save you. I swear!"
