Chapter 960: Have I Also Bewitched You

Ruby and Alex strolled leisurely behind the group.

The winter night was freezing, and Ruby shivered, regretting her decision to join Evelyn and the others for a walk.

In this cold, they should've just gone home. Walking around was pure torture.

As she thought this, she suddenly felt warmth. Alex had draped his coat over her.

"No, it's okay," Ruby said, trying to give it back.

But Alex held her shoulders, keeping the coat on. "Keep it; I'm not cold."

Yeah, right. But Alex insisted, so Ruby didn't argue. "Thanks."

"It's been ages since we last talked. How have you been?" Alex asked, trying to break the ice.

"Pretty good," Ruby nodded. There were things she couldn't share with him.

"That's good. I've been busy with work and lost touch with everyone. I wonder how they're all doing," Alex sighed.

After graduation, Alex joined the police force, starting from the bottom and working his way up. The struggles he faced weren't easy to share.

Running into Ruby in Golombia was a surprise, giving him a bit of hope.

Ruby smiled. "I haven't kept in touch much either. Just the occasional 'like' on social media."

She joked, "But you look way more handsome now. Our old classmates would be shocked to see the chubby guy turned into a handsome man."

She couldn't deny it; the slimmed-down Alex was indeed good-looking. If he hadn't mentioned it, she wouldn't have recognized him.

Alex smiled shyly. "Back then, stress made me gain weight. But after joining the police academy and working out, I lost it."

"That's great," Ruby said.

"What about you? I heard you're working at your family's company now?" Alex asked.

Ruby nodded. "Yeah. My parents are getting older, so I can't be as carefree as before."

If Craig hadn't shown up, Ruby might still be living a carefree life, never understanding her parents' struggles.

But everything changed because of Craig.

"Oh come on, you're still young and beautiful," Alex chuckled.

Ruby felt a bit embarrassed. "Stop flattering me. I'm almost thirty."

"So, does that make me ancient?" He was older than Ruby.

Ruby quickly waved her hand, embarrassed. "No, no, you're still handsome. You don't seem to age."

She wasn't lying. Maybe because of his regular exercise, Alex looked younger than his peers.

Before he mentioned he was her classmate, Ruby thought he was younger than her.

"Really? Very handsome?" Alex asked.

Ruby nodded. "You're really good-looking, the kind who can charm any woman."

"Oh? What about you? Have I charmed you?" Alex asked with a playful smile. His gaze made Ruby blush.

Ruby quickly looked away. "I'm just admiring your looks."

After all, it was always nice to admire a handsome guy, right? It was pleasing to the eyes.
