Chapter 1076: Don't Speak So Certainly
"Niall's got a point," Aidan said, half agreeing.
Even though he doubted the baby was his, he needed to clear things up with Phoebe to avoid future hassle.
Evelyn felt a headache coming on. Did all guys only see things from their perspective? Couldn't anyone think about Phoebe's feelings?
Sure, maybe she was wrong to mess with Aidan initially, but she hadn't bothered him in ages. Even after getting pregnant, she didn't come running to him. Didn't that show she wasn't using the baby as leverage?
"Aidan, I get it. I'll talk to Phoebe," Evelyn cut in, worried Aidan might lose his cool and do something rash.
Aidan looked at her. "You want to talk to her for me?"
"I'll just pass your message, not convince her to get rid of the baby," Evelyn replied.
Seeing Aidan about to argue, Evelyn quickly added, "Aren't you sure the baby isn't yours? If so, whether she keeps it or not shouldn't matter to you, right?"
Evelyn continued, "What if she wants to keep the baby and raise it herself? We can't interfere, can we?"
Aidan was annoyed. To him, the safest bet was still an abortion.
Evelyn caught on and insisted, "Aidan, it's her choice to keep the baby or not. Whether it's yours or not, you can't intervene."
She worried Aidan might take extreme measures.
If he forced Phoebe into an abortion, Craig would definitely retaliate.
"Don't worry, I wouldn't do that," Aidan scoffed.
Aidan thought, 'Phoebe! You really know how to play the game!'
Leaving Aidan's house, Evelyn was annoyed.
Niall, driving, glanced at her and said softly, "Evelyn, it's not that I don't support you, but Aidan does have a point."
If it were him, he couldn't accept Phoebe either.
"I get it, Aidan's not wrong," Evelyn wasn't unreasonable, just upset.
"It's best to persuade Phoebe to have an abortion. She could start fresh. Keeping the baby will just cause endless problems," Niall suggested.
Evelyn shot him a look. "What if she wants to raise the baby? Not everyone has to get married."
"Fine, whatever you say," Niall didn't argue, knowing she was upset.
Evelyn didn't want to continue the topic, so she asked, "How are things with you and Lily lately?"
"Pretty good," Niall replied.
Evelyn stayed silent, prompting Niall to chuckle, "I know you and Aidan expect Lily and me to split, but let me be clear: Lily and I are solid!"
Evelyn shrugged. "Never say never. The future's unpredictable." They hadn't faced any big challenges yet.
Niall declared confidently, "I've got this!"
Evelyn rolled her eyes and didn't respond, feeling even more frustrated.
Seeing Niall's confidence, she doubted whether Dermot's suggestion would work.
