Chapter 722 I Hope You Won't Regret It
Evelyn found Dora quite amusing, her lips curling slightly as she said, "Dora, you're giving me too much credit. This is Blake and Wade's decision, and I can't change it."
"Evelyn, are you really going to make the Kyte family enemies of the other families in Golombia?" Dora's face was cold, barely able to contain her anger.
Evelyn raised an eyebrow, which indicated she was unconcerned about it. "Dora, if you're really that worried about the Roberts family, why not go talk to my dad? Maybe he'll listen to you."
Dora pointed at her, so angry she was nearly grinding her teeth, but in the end, she didn't dare make a move.
She knew she wasn't a match for Evelyn. If she charged forward, she'd only end up on the losing side.
Dora took a deep breath, trying hard to calm herself down. "I hope you don't regret today's decision."
With that, Dora turned and left. Although Evelyn didn't know what Dora was up to, her intuition told her it was nothing good.
Thinking of this, Evelyn took out her phone and called Luke, asking him to send a few people to keep an eye on Dora to prevent her from causing trouble.
When she hung up, she reminded him not to forget about the bar opening. Once the bar was up and running, she wouldn't need to call Luke for such tracking tasks, sparing him the exhaustion.
She forgot about Dora's matter quickly. After breakfast, she left and drove to Golombia Hospital.
In the neurosurgery department, the whole place was bustling early in the morning.
This was a relatively busy department. From interns to the chief, the hustle never stopped from the moment they stepped in.
But today was an exception. Everyone arrived early, mainly because they heard a new doctor was coming and wanted to see what the new doctor looked like.
Evelyn also arrived early and went straight to the chief's office to report.
Chief Virgil Newman was quite familiar with Evelyn's ability. For someone who could both perform surgeries and publish papers, he was more than welcoming.
"Evelyn, work hard. I believe it won't be long before this position is yours." Evelyn just smiled at his words, not taking them to heart.
"Let's go. I'll take you out to meet the others. After all, you'll be working together from now on." With that, Virgil walked out of the office.
In the meeting room, Virgil gathered everyone and briefly introduced Evelyn. He didn't waste time; after a few words, he had them get to know each other before sending them back to work.
"Dr. Hall, show Evelyn around our department," Virgil called over an older doctor. Rodolfo walked over and nodded at Evelyn. "Alright, Virgil, I'll show her around."
After Virgil left, Rodolfo took Evelyn around the department, introducing her to the hospital's general procedures. Although these were basic operations, each hospital was different, so she needed to get familiar.
Evelyn had just arrived at the hospital. Unlike at Moris Hospital, where she started as deputy chief, she had to begin as an attending physician here. When she could become deputy chief was uncertain.
But she didn't care about titles; as long as she could save lives, the title didn't matter.
All day, Evelyn followed Rodolfo, watching him treat patients and quickly getting used to the pace at Golombia Hospital.
Since she was new, she didn't have to be on call, so when it was time, Evelyn prepared to leave.
She had thought about inviting the department for a meal, but seeing how busy everyone was, she decided to wait until she was more familiar with them.
As she walked to the first-floor outpatient hall, Geoffrey caught up with her just as she was about to leave.
