Chapter 1028: Just Worried She Won't Succeed

Evelyn rolled her eyes. "So he realizes he's wrong, and now everyone has to forgive him? Does he think the world revolves around him?"

She thought if Dermot had ever said he wouldn't marry her or go public with their relationship, and then later imprisoned her, she wouldn't have forgiven him either. It was a matter of principle.

"Not everyone has to forgive him. Ruby hasn't, right?" Lydia said.

"But he deserves a chance to start over. Ruby doesn't want to give him a chance, but I do. I believe he won't make the same mistake again."

Evelyn admired Lydia's determination. "Well, suit yourself."

She couldn't stop Lydia from liking Craig. Anyway, Craig was handsome and came from a good family, so lots of girls liked him.

"Can I get your contact info? We can hang out in the future." Lydia shyly took out her phone, her cheeks slightly red.

If she had known she'd end up flattering Evelyn and Ruby to add them as friends, she wouldn't have been so arrogant earlier.

Evelyn and Ruby exchanged a smile and didn't refuse.

After finishing their coffee, Evelyn and Ruby said to Lydia before leaving, "Good luck."

"I will. I'll send you wedding invitations when the time comes," Lydia said.

"Alright." Evelyn genuinely hoped that day would come.

On the way back, Evelyn drove and first dropped Ruby off at home.

Glancing at Ruby in the passenger seat, she asked, "So, after talking so much with Lydia, did you feel even a bit uncomfortable?"

"Why would I feel uncomfortable?" Ruby was puzzled.

"She's going after Craig, and she'll send you a wedding invitation in the future. Won't you feel uncomfortable?" Evelyn asked.

Ruby shook her head. "No, I'm just worried she won't succeed."

She knew how stubborn Craig could be.

"That means you really have no feelings for Craig anymore," Evelyn concluded. Although Ruby had said this before, Evelyn had some doubts until she confirmed it herself.

But now, she had no more doubts.

Ruby shrugged. "I've already told you; you just didn't believe me."

"Since you have no feelings for him anymore, why not try being with Alex? You need to start over." No matter what had happened before, if Ruby didn't take this step, she would always be stuck in the past, which wasn't what Evelyn wanted to see.

Ruby felt a headache coming on and leaned against the car window. "I'll think about it. Take it slow."

Although Ruby had a good impression of Alex, it wasn't to the point of immediately liking him. She could only take it slow.

Upon hearing this, Evelyn didn't say anything more. As long as Ruby had the intention to start, that was enough.

The car continued to drive and soon stopped in front of Ruby's apartment complex.

Since Ruby had bought a lot of things, Evelyn specifically helped carry the items back to her place. After sitting for a while, she got up to leave and drove to Joshua's villa.

She had bought a lot of things, but none of them were for herself.

After parking the car, she took a gift box from the trunk, which she had bought for Joshua.

She walked in with the gift, not expecting Joshua to be sitting in the living room. Hearing the noise, he looked up at her. "You're back?"
