Chapter 293 It's Up to You
The next morning, Evelyn and Dermot took a car to Tara Village.
She looked at the trunk, filled with all sorts of gift boxes, and couldn't help but feel speechless. "We're going to pick up two children from Moris City, not visit relatives."
"Picking up the children and visiting relatives are not contradictory," the man smiled and said to her. "These are all elders who have watched you grow up since you were young, they are your relatives and friends. I can't just go empty-handed, right?"
"I have nothing to do with you, why can't you go empty-handed?" Evelyn retorted, thinking that anyone who didn't know would think that Dermot was her boyfriend.
"It doesn't matter now, but it will in the future. I have to leave a good impression in advance, don't you think?" Dermot thought long-term. He didn't want Evelyn to face any difficulties, so he had to do his best.
Seeing Dermot's seriousness, Evelyn opened her mouth, but in the end, she didn't say anything. "It's up to you."
The car slowly drove on. Moris City was not close to Tara Village, and it would take four to five hours to drive.
They set off in the morning and arrived in the village by noon.
Because they had called ahead, when Evelyn stepped into the Doyal Mansion, she was greeted by happy faces.
Next, her uncle Jacob Morgans was already waiting at the door.
"Evelyn, you finally arrived. Uncle has been waiting for you for a long time," Jacob Morgans approached Evelyn, but was stunned when he saw someone standing next to Evelyn.
"Who is this?" he wondered. Evelyn didn't say she was bringing someone along.
Evelyn glanced at Dermot and then introduced him, "This is Dermot, he came along to play. Uncle, you don't need to worry about him."
"This is my uncle," Evelyn introduced Dermot.
Dermot smiled and approached, shaking Jacob Morgans' hand. "Hello, Uncle, you can call me Dermot."
"Hello, hello," Jacob Morgans was puzzled, but he didn't ask further, leading the two of them into the house.
In the living room, Evelyn didn't see the two children. Jacob Morgans immediately explained, "The two children went to the village to catch fish in the front. They've been having a great time playing all day."
"Thank you, Uncle," Evelyn thanked. She had been taken care of by her uncle since she was young and now, as she grew older, she still had to trouble him for help.
Jacob Morgans waved his hand, not minding, "We are family, no need to say thank you."
"Let's sit and eat," Jacob Morgans gestured for them to sit.
Evelyn and Dermot sat down, before they could pick up their chopsticks, two more people walked in from the door.
"Aunt," Evelyn called out to the person, and then said to the other person, "When did my cousin also come back?"
"This is my house. When I want to come back, I'll come back. Do I have to tell you in advance?" Emily Morgans glared at her, not hiding her dislike for Evelyn.
Evelyn smiled and didn't argue with her. After all, her cousin had never liked her from childhood. In the past, she would argue with her a few times when her grandfather was around, but now...
It wasn't necessary anymore. She would probably rarely come back in the future.
Emily Morgans wanted to scold Evelyn a few more words, but when she saw Dermot sitting there, she held back her words and immediately changed her expression, "Who is this?"
"He's Evelyn's friend," Jacob Morgans introduced coldly, scolding Emily Morgans, "Why are you still standing there? Come and sit, do I have to invite you?"
Jacob Morgans also felt helpless towards his own daughter, not wanting to argue with her.
Without her father's words, Emily Morgans walked over and sat down, next to Dermot. "Hello, I'm Emily Morgans, you can call me Emily."
Dermot nodded, giving face as Evelyn's cousin.
