Chapter 455 Do You Find Me Annoying?
The more Evelyn thought about it, the more terrifying it seemed. If the other party truly was Benjamin's illegitimate child, was it just a coincidence that brought him to their company? It wasn't her overthinking; the situation was just too coincidental and bizarre.
"Oh dear, if I had known this, I wouldn't have rushed to sign the contract," Sarah regretted, clearly realizing the intentions of the other party coming to the company.
If he really was the Doyle family's illegitimate child and came to work with them, it didn't seem normal no matter how you looked at it. Evelyn sighed too. Yeah, the contract had already been signed, so it wouldn't be appropriate to back out now. They couldn't just lose a sum of money for nothing.
"It's okay, let's see what his true motives are. Keep an eye on him for now," Evelyn instructed. If the other party had ulterior motives, she believed they would be able to find clues.
Then she, quickly, added to Sarah, "Of course, don't be too obvious about it. What if we got it wrong? We wouldn't want to upset him."
"Mhm, I understand," Sarah nodded, but her attitude towards Luke wasn't as positive as before.
Inside Luke's car, he was driving and talking on the phone. "Don't worry, I'll personally handle everything. What can't I resolve?" He spoke to the person on the other end of the line.
"So what if they found out about my identity? What's the big deal? I'm not a bad person. Even if I’m their son, would they fire me because of it?" In his opinion, Evelyn was not that kind of person.
After a brief conversation with Benjamin, he hung up the phone. Coming to Evelyn's company, was just to have more contact with her. Before long, the car stopped, and the three of them walked into the restaurant together.
Evelyn and Sarah didn't show any unusual expressions on their faces. They still treated Luke well, but they both became a bit more cautious. Luke had no idea about this and chatted with Evelyn about the current situation of Evelyn Fashion.
It had to be said that Luke had genuine talent in this area. He spoke about exactly what Evelyn was thinking, and she couldn't help but hold him in higher regard. Hoping that he didn't have ulterior motives.
She thought to herself and felt that she should investigate, just in case it was a misunderstanding. With her decision made, Evelyn continued to see Luke with a smile on his face, making it hard to gauge his true intentions.
After dinner, Luke left, and Sarah accompanied Evelyn home. After giving some instructions, Evelyn didn't say much more, and got out of the car to enter her house.
To her surprise, the door of the Dermot's house across from hers was open. She hesitated as she took out her keys, wondering if she should remind the man. But before she could, he had already walked out and asked, "Have you eaten?"
Evelyn was caught off guard for a moment. "Yes, and you?"
"Oh," Dermot seemed a bit disappointed.
Evelyn felt guilty, as if she had done something wrong. "You haven't eaten yet?"
"No, I was waiting for you," Dermot chuckled. He thought Evelyn would be back soon, but he didn't expect such a long wait. Feeling that Dermot's behavior was off, Evelyn spoke kindly to him.
"Dermot, you don't have to do this. If you're busy, go and focus your energy on other things instead of just me." This way, Dermot wouldn't be exhausted, and she wouldn't feel burdened either.
"Do you find me annoying?" Dermot raised his gaze, his eyes filled with sadness.
Now Evelyn was somewhat at a loss and quickly explained, "No, no, I just don't want you to waste your time. Aren't you busy?"
"I'm not wasting time, I want to." Dermot smiled, his gaze towards Evelyn filled with passion.
Yes, he was willing. As long as Evelyn would give him another chance, he was willing to do anything.
