Chapter 98 There's Nothing for Us to Talk About

Evelyn felt that Keith must have never been beaten before, otherwise, he wouldn't say such provocative things.

Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to continue working. As for the reason why Dermot was afraid of the dark, she didn't want to investigate, as it had nothing to do with her.

She was busy at the hospital until late at night when she returned to her apartment and unfortunately ran into Dermot.

Moving out had to be put on the agenda!

In the elevator, Evelyn leaned in the corner and ignored Dermot's presence.

Dermot couldn't hold back and asked first, "Did grandfather call you?"

"Mr. Doyle was talking to me?" Evelyn looked up at him, knowingly asking.

Dermot's face darkened, and he tried to control himself from getting angry. "Or else, are there other people here?"

"Oh," Evelyn responded and then said, "He did."

"Are you going?" Dermot asked again.

"Grandfather invited me, of course, I'll go," she answered.

Before Dermot could continue, Evelyn said, "If Mr. Doyle doesn't want to see me, I'll avoid you and make sure we don't cross paths."

As the host of the banquet, it was understandable that Dermot didn't want to see her, so who

"Would you like to see someone pointing at him and cursing him?"

"Evelyn, I feel that you have misunderstood me deeply," Dermot said. Where did he show that he didn't want to see her? it was this woman who didn't want to see him, right?

Evelyn shrugged, indifferent.

She and Dermot already had so many misunderstandings, a few more wouldn't make a difference. After all, there was no shortage of debts to worry about.

Just as they were talking, the elevator arrived. Evelyn stepped out, wanting to hurry home and not continue getting entangled with Dermot.

However, Dermot mustered up the courage and was determined to clarify things with Evelyn today, so he followed behind her, neither fast nor slow until she stood in front of her own door. The man didn't show any signs of leaving.

Evelyn held her keys and didn't open the door. Instead, she turned around, looking at Dermot with a vigilant expression. "What do you want?"

"Just a chat," he said.

Evelyn was speechless and said, "I don't think there's anything to chat about between us."

"That's just your opinion. I think there's a lot we can chat about," Dermot was determined to talk things out with Evelyn. If they continued like this, he would go crazy.

Their eyes met, and Dermot's gaze was too intense. Evelyn felt guilty under his gaze, for no reason.

she said, "It's late at night, a man and a woman alone together, it's not appropriate."

"Are you worried that I'll do something to you?" Dermot laughed, was he that despicable?

Evelyn felt that there was a possibility of that, but more likely, Dermot would take the opportunity to retaliate for her previous insults towards him.

Dermot rubbed his temples, feeling that this woman was truly his nemesis. "How about the coffee shop downstairs?"

"Drinking coffee at night makes it hard to sleep," Evelyn said.

"What do you want then!" Dermot gritted his teeth, feeling like he was losing control of his anger.

Evelyn didn't dare to tease him anymore and quickly said, "How about the food stalls downstairs? There's a delicious barbecue stall."

Dermot hesitated. He had never eaten at a food stall in his life.

But he didn't want to miss this hard-won opportunity. "Alright, you call the shots."

Soon, the two turned and walked into the elevator again, silent until they stood in front of the food stall.

Looking at the crowd inside the food stall, Evelyn felt a strong sense of security and her attitude towards Dermot improved.

On the other hand, Dermot, standing next to her, had a face darker than the bottom of a pot.
