Chapter 1195: I Hope He Doesn't Let Me Down.

The next day, Nathaniel hopped on a private jet outta Seabrook City.

Even though everything was set up, he still had this weird feeling, like something was about to go down.

"Mr. Flores, you look worried," his right-hand man said, noticing Nathaniel's furrowed brow.

Nathaniel snapped out of it and asked coldly, "You think Oscar's got what it takes?"

"Mr. Oscar Flores might seem like a flake, but I think he just plays it that way. The guy's got skills," the subordinate replied.

"Is that so?" Nathaniel stared out the plane window. "He better not let me down."

Sure, he had a few kids on the side, but he wasn't planning on bringing them into the Flores family just yet.

Oscar was his firstborn, and he had the backing of another powerful family. If Oscar proved himself, Nathaniel wouldn't mind handing over the reins to him.

But if Oscar didn't show he had what it took, Nathaniel wouldn't waste his time.

He had plenty of sons; one of them had to be sharp.

Back at Nathaniel's mansion, Oscar moved in as soon as Nathaniel left and started beefing up security. Everything seemed locked down.

"Hey, if Evelyn and Blake show up, they ain't leaving here alive," Oscar said, looking up at Bella on the second floor, trying to get under her skin.

Bella stayed quiet, looking at the mansion now crawling with twice as many bodyguards, feeling a gnawing worry.

Even she knew that if Evelyn and her crew were gonna make a move, now was the perfect time.

How could Nathaniel not see this coming? He definitely wouldn't let her get taken away easily.

Bella thought, 'Evelyn, I'd rather you stay away than get yourself in danger.'

Evelyn and her crew showed up fast. When the gunfire started, Oscar jumped off the sofa. "Everyone get out there and take them down. I'll guard Bella myself."

With that, he went upstairs, holding a gun to Bella's head.

The others were scared Oscar might use this chance to kill Bella, but they didn't dare say much. Nathaniel had told them to follow Oscar's orders before he left.

When everyone went out to deal with Evelyn and her crew, Oscar let Bella go and sneered, "You're lucky you got a good daughter. Otherwise, I'd really want to kill you today."

"Oscar, what are you doing?" Bella wasn't dumb. Oscar's behavior was off; it didn't seem like he really wanted to kill her.

Oscar glanced at her and scoffed, "What can I do? I'm just teaming up with Evelyn."

"You..." Bella couldn't believe it. This was Nathaniel's son; how could he be working with Evelyn?

Oscar didn't bother explaining. He shoved Bella into a room and stayed inside to guard her.

He had no clue how many people Evelyn had with her or if they could handle them. Either way, he wasn't about to risk going outside and getting caught in the crossfire.

In the end, no matter what happened, it wouldn't make much difference to him.

The gunfire at the mansion didn't last long. Nathaniel had underestimated the reach of the Kyte and Doyle families. Even though their turf was elsewhere, their influence was huge. Bringing a few of their people was more than enough to overpower the Flores family.

So, when the shooting stopped and Evelyn pushed open Bella's door, Oscar was genuinely surprised to see her.
