Chapter 479 Only Wanting Your Life.
Evelyn chuckled lightly, not taking it seriously. "Who knows, I'm not interested in him anyway."
She wasn't joking.
She really didn't have any interest in Geoffrey, so she didn't care what he was up to. It seemed irrelevant to her.
Upon hearing Evelyn's words, Dermot inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that she had no interest in her acquaintance. Dermot was afraid that Evelyn might be a little interest in the other man.
The car drove slowly along the windy roads and soon arrived at the entrance of the residential area.
In the underground parking lot, Evelyn got out of the car and saw that Dermot was still in the car without getting out. Subconsciously, she asked,"Do you have something else to do?"
"Yeah, there's still some business at the company," the man replied.
"Since you have something else to do, you didn't have to come and pick me up. It's troublesome to make this trip," Evelyn felt somewhat uneasy.
She thought Dermot came to pick her up after finishing his work.
Dermot however, had a smile on his face. As he said to her,"It's not troublesome at all. The time spent with you is the most relaxing part of my day. I wish I could be with you every day."
Although this statement sounded cheesy, it was true for Dermot.
Evelyn's cheeks blushed slightly. She didn't expect him to be so straightforward and glared at him with annoyance. As she said.
"Who wants to be with you every day? I'm busy even without you."
Besides, if she didn't remember wrongly, she hadn't forgiven this man yet, right?
Dermot didn't argue with her. As long as Evelyn understood his feelings, that was enough.
"Go back quickly, I'm leaving," Dermot waved at her and started the car to leave.
Evelyn watched his car disappear before turning around and entering the elevator, pressing the button for her apartment floor.
While waiting for the elevator, Evelyn kept thinking about her relationship with Dermot. Sometimes she couldn't figure out her own feelings towards that man.
If she said she didn't like him, she couldn't deny that she didn't feel so repulsed when he got close to her and even had some expectations.
But if she said she liked him, just thinking that he had once...
Deceived her, she couldn't get past that hurdle in her heart. She sighed, unable to think clearly about the matter, which gave her a headache.
Oh well, let it be and go with the flow. Just as she was thinking that, footsteps approached her from behind. Someone had walked up beside her, seemingly waiting for the elevator as well.
Evelyn glanced sideways, thinking it was just a neighbor from the same building. But the moment she saw the other person, her hairs stood on end and she instinctively took several steps back.
"What a coincidence, little girl. We meet again," the woman said to Evelyn, seemingly without any hostility.
But Evelyn didn't see it that way. Although the woman didn't take her life the last time they crossed paths in Colombia, Evelyn knew she wasn't a match for her.
If the woman intended to kill her this time, Evelyn might not have the ability to fight back.
Evelyn coldly stared at her, with no intention to exchange pleasantries. "What do you want?"
"I don't want anything," she said with a faint smile, her gaze turning sharp. "I just want your life."
Evelyn was not surprised to hear those words. She didn't believe that this woman would spare her every time. Who knows what the woman was testing last time; this time might be when she really makes her move.
"Do I have a grudge against you?" Evelyn asked, looking at her, certain that she had never met this woman before.
The woman lightly chuckled,"You don't have a grudge against me, but you have annoyed someone on top of me. I'm just following orders, so don't blame me when you're dead."
She feigned innocence and Evelyn cursed inwardly, thinking that she seemed quite innocent, huh?
"I can't understand why a person like you would work for someone else," Evelyn said, buying herself some time, not rushing into a confrontation.
