Chapter 361 It Seems Like I Came at the Right Time

After resting at home for a few days, Evelyn could finally return to work at the hospital. If she continued to rest like this, she felt like she would become useless.

"Eve, are you sure your injuries are okay? Do you need a few more days of rest?" Marina asked, rushing over as she saw Evelyn.

Evelyn shook her head at her, "I'm fine, just a minor injury. I've already recovered."

If it weren't for Marina taking a few days off for her, she would have returned to work earlier.

Marina still had worry in her eyes, but Evelyn didn't let her continue, "Tell me about the patients these past few days. Were there any new admissions in the inpatient department?"

"Alright." Marina nodded and quickly took out the medical records, reporting to Evelyn about the patients they had received in the past few days.

Early in the morning, Evelyn started to get busy, even performing two surgeries in the afternoon. She didn't have any idle time at all.

Six o'clock, time to clock out.

After changing her clothes, Evelyn was about to leave when Marina pushed the door open, "Eve, do you have plans for tonight? Let me treat you to a meal."

"Sure." Evelyn nodded without refusal. Since Dermot was busy as well, she had nothing to do when she went back.

The two of them walked towards the hospital's entrance, but as they arrived, a red sports car stopped in front of them, and Evander stepped out of the car.

"Marina." He walked up to Marina, surprised to see Evelyn as well, but quickly turned that surprise into delight.

"Ms. Kyte is here too, that's perfect. Let me treat you both to a meal," he said with a smile.

Evelyn furrowed her brows slightly, but before she could say anything, Marina refused, "No need, we already made plans ahead of time. Some other time, perhaps."

"But I'm already here. Can't let me go back just like that, right?" Evander replied with a smile that seemed rather ambiguous, his gaze shifting between Evelyn.

Marina frowned and stood in front of Evelyn, "Enough, I'll go eat with you."

"Alright." Evander didn't insist, since he was going to marry Marina anyway, even though he didn't want to give up on Evelyn.

But it didn't matter, he could casually play with other women after marriage. He could come find this woman again later.

Marina turned around and apologized to Evelyn, "Sorry, Eve, I didn't know he would suddenly show up."

"It's fine, you go." Evelyn didn't mind. Although she didn't like Evander at all, it was ultimately Marina's choice, and she couldn't stop her.

Marina nodded and prepared to get in the car and leave.

But Evelyn stopped her, walking up to her and whispering in her ear, "Be careful, call me if anything happens."

Marina froze, glanced at Evander, and finally nodded, "Alright, I will."

Evelyn watched as the two of them

Leaving, her gaze slightly darkened.

She had always been accurate when judging people, and at first sight, she felt that Evander was not a good person, so she didn't want Marina to marry him.

But this was only her intuition after all, without substantial evidence.

Hope nothing goes wrong, she thought to herself.

The planned dinner was ruined, and Evelyn couldn't decide what to eat for a moment.

If she went back home, she couldn't cook, so she would just have instant noodles. But eating out, she glanced around and didn't see anything good.

Just when she was in a dilemma, Greg drove up to her, "Looks like I came just in time for dinner. Are you ready to eat?"

Evelyn shook her head and Greg said, "I'll treat you. I happened to find a very delicious restaurant, you'll definitely like it."
