Chapter 1333 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (8)
At night, Phoebe was chilling on the living room couch. Normally, she'd be out cold by now, but tonight? Nah, she was wide awake.
Evelyn's words from that afternoon kept bouncing around in her head. She started thinking, maybe she really did mess up.
Just 'cause she wasn't hitched, did that mean her baby had to get the side-eye?
Maybe Evelyn had a point.
As she was lost in thought, she heard a car pull up outside. Must be Aidan coming back.
Soon enough, the living room door creaked open, and Aidan flicked on the light. He spotted Phoebe on the couch and looked kinda confused. "Why are you still up?"
"I need to talk to you," Phoebe said, looking like she finally made up her mind.
Aidan didn't push for details. He dropped his bag, grabbed a glass of water, and then asked, "What's up?"
Phoebe motioned for him to sit. Aidan walked over and plopped down across from her.
Then, Phoebe handed him the birth certificate she got that afternoon. "The baby's name is set, and here's his birth certificate."
"Okay." Aidan didn't even glance at it, just nodded, not giving much away.
Phoebe couldn't read him. She opened the birth certificate. "Aren't you gonna look?"
She had already handed it to him. Even if he wasn't super interested, he had to take it now.
When he saw the name Theodore Brooks, his hand holding the cup shook a bit.
"Why doesn't he have your last name?" Aidan put down the birth certificate. He looked calm, but his heart was racing.
"I think Brooks is a pretty cool last name," Phoebe smiled at him.
Aidan stared at her, not saying a word for a while.
Phoebe put the birth certificate away and continued, "Actually, I wanted to talk about having a baby shower for Theodore."
"A baby shower? Didn't we agree not to have one?" Aidan frowned. He was kinda against the idea.
"I thought about it. Even though we're not married, that doesn't affect Theodore. Other babies have showers, so why shouldn't he?" Theodore was Aidan's baby too. Phoebe had decided on the baby shower, but she felt she should tell him.
Whether he liked it or not, Phoebe was gonna throw a baby shower for Theodore.
Aidan was quiet, seriously thinking about what Phoebe said.
Of course, he wanted the best for his baby Theodore.
His baby deserved to be spoiled from day one.
"Alright, whatever you say." In the end, he agreed.
Just like Phoebe said, other babies had it, so his baby should too.
Phoebe couldn't help but smile. "Cool, then I'll start planning the baby shower. It's gonna be awesome."
"No need, I'll get someone else to handle it. You need to rest," Aidan said, thinking about Phoebe's health. He didn't want her to stress over it.
Phoebe pursed her lips, not agreeing right away. "Theodore's my son. It's only right I plan it for him."
"Theodore's not just gonna have a baby shower and a first birthday party. He'll have big celebrations for his tenth and twentieth birthdays, get married, have kids. There'll be tons of special moments to plan for him," Aidan suggested gently, hinting she shouldn't wear herself out over this one event.
