Chapter 155 He Is My Ex-Husband, Nothing More
Among the group, only Evelyn remained calm, drinking her soup as if she hadn't heard what they were saying.
After finishing a warm bowl of soup, she reached over and took Aidan's bowl, scooping him a bowl, "Aidan, this soup tastes good."
"Okay." Aidan took the bowl Evelyn handed to him, understanding what she meant.
Dermot looked at Evelyn, waiting for her to scoop him a bowl of soup as well.
However, Evelyn didn't.
Dermot felt a little disappointed, but it quickly disappeared. It was only natural for Evelyn to help Aidan, considering they had known each other for so many years and treated each other like siblings.
After that, the two of them didn't continue their verbal sparring, but the atmosphere at the table remained uneasy.
After dinner, Dermot couldn't find a reason to stay any longer, "Do you want to go back to Barberts Apartment? I can drive you there."
Evelyn shook her head, "No thanks. You can go back first."
"Okay." Dermot nodded and turned away, leaving Aidan's villa.
Once he was gone, Evelyn turned to look at Aidan, furrowing her brows, "Aidan, you didn't have to argue with him. It doesn't accomplish anything."
"Speaking of this ...."
"Evelyn, I'm worried about you and him..."
"He is my ex-husband, nothing more." Evelyn spoke resolutely.
Aidan understood, but still had concerns in his heart. "Is it really just that? You won't have feelings for him?"
Evelyn furrowed her brows even tighter. For some reason, she always felt that Aidan had been acting strangely since their divorce.
"I’m not questioning you I'm just worried about you. I'm afraid you'll continue to be entangled with Dermot and put yourself in even more danger in the future." Aidan hurriedly explained.
Evelyn snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Aidan. "Aidan, don't worry. I'll think it through myself, especially because I haven't even thought about being with Dermot."
Even though Dermot had helped her several times, it wasn't enough for her to develop feelings for him. Remarrying was just a baseless idea.
"Alright, think it through on your own then." Aidan didn't say anything more, fearing that saying too much would provoke Evelyn.
Evelyn nodded and softened her tone. "Then I'll go back first."
"Let me accompany you," Aidan said.
"No thanks. It's convenient to go by taxi. You've been drinking, so it's not suitable for you to drive." Saying that, Evelyn walked towards the door.
Soon, Evelyn's figure disappeared from the villa, and Aidan's face changed slightly.
Niall had been silently watching the whole time and only got curious after Evelyn left. "Aidan, although Dermot did something wrong in the past, it was because he hadn't met Evelyn. Maybe he really likes Evelyn, who knows?"
He couldn't understand why Aidan was so opposed to Dermot, not only being at odds with him, but even suspecting that Evelyn would be moved?
"His liking now only shows that he is shallow, regretting it only because he finds Evelyn beautiful." Aidan said with a disdainful look.
Niall felt that Dermot wasn't that kind of person. After all, when it came to beauty, Dermot was never lacking beautiful women around him.
But he didn't argue with Aidan. It was unnecessary to have a conflict with Aidan over Dermot, especially since they weren't close.
At Barberts Apartment, when Evelyn went downstairs, she unexpectedly found Dermot's car parked there.
She walked over and indeed saw that man.
"Why are you here?" She thought Dermot had gone back to Doyle Manor.
"I'm waiting for Todd to bring the keys. I want to stay here tonight. Don't worry. I will definitely leave tomorrow." He had previously moved to Doyle Manor and entrusted Todd with the keys. He made a last-minute decision to come here without even having the keys.
Evelyn furrowed her brows and asked, "Why don't you stay at Doyle Manor?"
