Chapter 91 Counting on My Account
The two of them chatted and laughed, while Marina couldn't join in the conversation. However, she wasn't angry, and quietly listened.
Not long after, the store clerk retrieved what Adams wanted and handed it to Evelyn.
"These are newly arrived exquisite items. Grandpa Doyle likes this type the most," Adams said with a smile.
Whenever Evelyn occasionally went to Doyal Mansion for a meal, she would come to this store to buy something to bring over, and Grandpa Doyle was always very happy each time.
Evelyn handed the items to Marina and said to her, "Take these, Grandpa Doyle will like them."
"Alright." Marina had no doubts about Evelyn's decision.
"How much?" Marina asked.
Adams looked at her with a smiling face and joked, "Things here are always not about money, they're all given for free."
Marina was so confused.
Evelyn couldn't help but laugh and said in an annoyed tone, "Adams, why are you teasing her?"
"I didn't expect her to be so amusing." Adams also couldn't help but laugh.
As for Marina, she still remained confused, so... how much did it cost?
Evelyn said, "Just take it, put it on my account, Adams can even give me a discount."
"No..." Marina wanted to refuse.
"I happen to need to buy something too, so consider this as a free gift." Evelyn interrupted, then looked at Adams, "Uncle, is that alright?"
"That depends on how much the things you're buying are worth." Adams smiled mischievously, knowing that today was going to be a profitable day.
"Marina, wait here for me." She told Marina.
Marina didn't ask much and nodded in agreement.
Evelyn and Adams walked into the back room, while Marina sat in the waiting area, holding the expensive-looking decoration, feeling anxious.
Hesitating, she moved closer to the store employee and asked in a low voice, "Brother, is this decoration very expensive?"
"It's alright, it's not particularly expensive in the store." The store employee answered with a plain expression.
"Oh." She breathed a sigh of relief.
"It's only $680,000." The store employee said.
Marina heard the sound of her heart breaking.
$680,000?
For a single decoration?
And according to what Evelyn just said, it was considered a free gift?
She swallowed her saliva and felt that she, a second-generation rich kid, seemed pitiful in front of Evelyn.
Her father's budget for buying gifts for her was around $200,000. Although the Peterson family had some money, they were not wealthy, and they were not very familiar with the Doyle family either. They were putting on a show.
As if not giving up, she continued to ask, "How much money would someone need to spend in order to receive this as a free gift?"
"I don't know, but it would take at least hundreds of millions of dollars." The store employee shrugged and added, "But considering how familiar your friend is with my boss, maybe tens of millions of dollars would be enough."
Next, Marina almost didn't steady.
What exactly is Eve? How can they buy billion-dollar things?
Judging from their familiar appearance, Eve must have bought things here before. How much money must have been spent?
She was standing inside Adams" treasure trove, picking out a gift to give to Grandpa Doyle.
If Grandpa Doyle called and invited her in the next two days, she would bring it over. If there was no invitation, she would have someone deliver it, anyway, gifts should be given.
