Chapter 981: He Has Changed a Lot
Evelyn's words were a bit vague, but Sarah didn't push. It wasn't her business to pry.
"Let's go grab a bite," Keith said, walking up to them. He'd put a lot into today's love confession.
Evelyn quickly waved her hand. "No, we don't want to crash your date."
They'd just started dating, and it felt wrong for her and Dermot to tag along.
"What are you talking about? It's just a meal," Keith said, rolling his eyes. He just wanted to thank Evelyn and Dermot for their help.
While Evelyn hesitated, Sarah chimed in, "Come on, with all this snow, let's get some barbecue."
Snowy days were perfect for barbecue.
Evelyn looked at Dermot. "You in?"
"Yeah," Dermot nodded. He knew if he said no, Evelyn wouldn't go either.
With Dermot agreeing, Evelyn had no reason to refuse. They left the park with Keith and drove to a popular barbecue spot in Columbia.
After they left, Central Park officially opened, and tourists stumbled upon Keith's love confession setup, turning it into a popular photo spot.
On the way to the restaurant, Keith and Sarah's car led the way, while Evelyn sat in Dermot's passenger seat.
She glanced at Dermot and said, "You seem closer to Keith here than in Morris City."
Dermot didn't deny it. "Yeah. Maybe because of Benjamin."
Keith didn't hate the whole Doyle family, just Benjamin and his mom.
Now, with Keith's mom gone and Benjamin in a coma, if Keith kept hating, he'd be stuck in the past. Deciding to confess to Sarah meant he was ready to move on.
"Is Benjamin still in a coma?" Evelyn asked. Luke rarely mentioned him, and Dermot even less.
"Yeah," Dermot replied, as if Benjamin was just a stranger.
The car fell silent.
Luckily, they soon arrived at the barbecue place. It was packed, and they had to wait for a table.
Evelyn didn't mind waiting for good food.
But Keith wouldn't let Sarah wait. Somehow, they got a private room. The warmth inside chased away the chill.
At the table, Evelyn watched Keith ask Sarah about her food preferences. He seemed different, more reliable.
She thought, 'Love really changes people.'
"If you keep staring at him, I'll get jealous," Dermot whispered.
Evelyn snapped out of it, feeling speechless. "He's changed a lot."
"Yeah, unlike me. I've always been considerate," Dermot joked.
Evelyn rolled her eyes and got up. "I'm getting some dipping sauce."
