Chapter 386 I Can Handle It
"What's her name?"
"Ava Clark."
Evelyn looked at the web page in front of her. It contained all the information about Ava.
Everyone praised Evelyn for being a top student, but after seeing Ava's resume, she realized that there were plenty of talented people in this world.
Not only was Ava academically excellent, but she also excelled in every aspect, including character, intelligence, physical fitness, and beauty. Compared to herself, she didn't know how far behind she was.
Evelyn found herself feeling a bit inferior.
Shaking her head, she quickly dismissed these thoughts from her mind.
Whether she was a top student or beautiful didn't matter to Evelyn. She was herself, unrelated to others.
Closing her laptop, Evelyn felt that she should have a serious talk with Dermot.
If he truly saw her only as a substitute, then they should part ways amicably. She, Evelyn, was not the kind of person who would be someone's substitute.
As she was thinking, there was a knock on the door, causing her heart to skip a beat.
Is it Dermot? Did he find out about the incident at the shop and come all this way?
With this thought in mind, Evelyn's pace quickened, surprisingly filled with anticipation. It had been quite some time since she last saw that man.
The door opened, and Evelyn froze.
"Evelyn, are you okay? I've heard about what happened today. Don't worry, I will solve it for you," Greg looked at Evelyn's unpleasant expression, thinking that she was troubled by the plagiarism incident.
Seeing that it was him, Evelyn felt disappointed, but... aside from disappointment, there was also a sense of self-derision.
If even Greg knows about the shop's situation, wouldn't Dermot know?
Is he really that busy that he can't spare a moment to come see me?
"No, I can handle my own matters," Evelyn refused, not giving any importance to this matter.
Emily's methods of stealing the manuscript were incredibly clumsy. She probably didn't expect there to be surveillance in the study or that almost every area of the company had cameras.
What Evelyn needed to do now was find evidence linking Emily and Natalie.
But for her, this was not a problem, just a matter of time.
Seeing her refusal, Greg became displeased. "I know you don't like me, but you can't be stubborn. Do you really want to see your hard-earned brand close down?"
"I really don't need it, I have a way to clarify everything," Evelyn replied helplessly. Although she was annoyed by Greg's ulterior motives, she was still grateful for his willingness to help at this moment.
Not perceiving it as a joke, Greg let out a sigh of relief. "That's good then. If there's anything you need help with, just let me know."
Evelyn looked at him, filled with suspicion.
"Don't overthink it, I just genuinely want to help you without asking for anything in return," Greg said helplessly. He wasn't that shameless, he wouldn't kick someone when they were down.
Evelyn was taken aback by these words. "So, you're not asking me to be with you this time?"
"If you're willing..."
"Not willing."
"By the way, have you had dinner?" Greg changed the subject, or else they wouldn't have anything to talk about.
Evelyn shook her head. She had no appetite.
Greg smiled. "Then let me treat you."
"I don't want to go out." She just wanted to lie down at home, not go out or see anyone.
This troubled Greg. He cautiously suggested, "How about eating at home? I don't eat much, just make something simple for me."
Evelyn looked at him as if she was seeing a gorilla. "You want me to cook for you?"
"What else?" Greg retorted. He couldn't cook.
