Chapter 1086: Find a Way to Get Rid of Him
Dermot didn't expect to find nothing after digging into that doctor. No way the doc would help Joshua for free. Impossible.
He frowned, feeling a headache coming on. "Keep digging. If his finances are clean, check his circle. I don't buy that he didn't take any money from Joshua."
"Got it," Todd replied, noticing Dermot's frustration.
He placed lunch on Dermot's desk and said cautiously, "Mr. Doyle, please eat. Your stomach's not great, and skipping meals will make it worse."
Dermot waved him off, not interested in eating.
"Mr. Doyle, even if you don't care about yourself, think about Ms. Kyte. You promised her you'd take care of yourself," Todd urged.
Hearing Evelyn's name, Dermot's expression softened for a moment, but yesterday's events quickly darkened his mood again.
"She doesn't have time for me now; she's probably busy with Joshua," Dermot muttered bitterly.
"Ms. Kyte was deceived. If you take care of yourself and find the truth, she'll come back," Todd said confidently.
Given Dermot's stance on Joshua, Todd understood why Evelyn might suspect him. Words wouldn't help now; Dermot needed evidence.
Maybe Todd had a point. Dermot finally took the food. "Go get busy."
Seeing Dermot ready to eat, Todd sighed in relief. Evelyn's words seemed to work best.
At the hospital, while Evelyn went to get food for Joshua, Brandon entered the ward and whispered, "Mr. Garcia, we found the missing guy."
"Where?" Joshua's eyes narrowed.
"He's with Dermot, still locked up," Brandon replied.
Bad news for Joshua. "Get rid of him."
"Mr. Garcia, you mean..." Brandon was shocked.
"Even if he hasn't betrayed us, we can't risk it. He can't stay alive," Joshua said coldly.
Even if the guy hadn't talked yet, Joshua wouldn't take the chance. What if he had?
He couldn't let someone who knew everything get to Evelyn. Even if she didn't believe it right away, she'd get suspicious.
Brandon looked grim. He didn't like this plan. The guy was one of their own. If he was alive, they should rescue him, not...
But Brandon knew once Joshua decided, there was no changing it.
Just then, Evelyn walked in and saw their serious faces. "What's wrong? Something happen?"
Joshua glanced at Brandon, who got the hint.
"Ms. Kyte, Mr. Garcia's condition is worsening. We need a top doctor. We can't let this drag on," Brandon said.
Evelyn nodded. "Yes, Joshua, you should've thought of this sooner."
If Joshua had agreed to the exam when Dermot brought Leon, maybe none of this would have happened.
Now that Leon had left Libertonia, finding another doctor as good as him would be tough.
