Chapter 810 Satisfy My Curiosity
Natalie didn't retort. In the face of absolute disparity in strength, mouthing off would only result in a more severe beating.
"Get lost and disappear from my sight." Evelyn only felt irritated and somewhat disgusted seeing her like this. She really didn't want to look at her for another second.
Natalie didn't linger and got up to leave, but she made a mental note of today's incident.
Once she married Hubert and took over the Diaz family, she would definitely make Evelyn pay.
She thought she could manipulate her boyfriend like in her last marriage, but she forgot that this was Golombia, and everyone here was not that simple.
As if truly angered by Natalie, it took Evelyn a while to calm down. When she turned around, she realized that Joshua was still beside her and had witnessed the entire scene. She was a bit embarrassed.
He handed her a glass of juice. "After all that talking, you must be thirsty."
"Thank you, Joshua." Evelyn took it and sipped, finding the taste quite good.
"People like her aren't worth your time. I'll make sure she disappears and never shows up in front of you again." He didn't want to see Evelyn troubled by someone like that.
Evelyn looked at him in surprise as she heard it. "Joshua, what do you mean by making her disappear?"
He was taken aback, clearly not expecting Evelyn to ask that. "Don't overthink it. I just mean I'll make her leave Golombia so you won't run into her."
"Really?" Why did she find that hard to believe?
Joshua's tone just now made her feel like he wanted to get rid of Natalie for good. She hoped she was overthinking it.
"Don't get involved. Someone like her isn't worth your effort," Evelyn said, not wanting Joshua to waste his time on Natalie.
Since she said so, Joshua nodded. "Alright, whatever you say. After all, you're my boss now."
"Joshua, you really didn't have to join the Kyte Group because of me. I believe you'd do better elsewhere." The Kyte Group was a well-established company, and it wouldn't be easy for Joshua to make a name for himself there.
He'd likely achieve more at a startup or by starting his own business.
Joshua understood what she meant but showed no regret. "Evelyn, the Kyte Group is such a big company. Being a director in one of its departments is a dream come true for many. I'm thrilled to have this opportunity, thanks to you."
"Joshua." She wanted to persuade him.
"You overthink it. Joining the Kyte Group is a great deal for me. Please don't make it sound like I'm at a disadvantage. Evelyn, you really don't need to worry so much," Joshua said helplessly.
Seeing his determination, Evelyn didn't know what else to say and could only sigh. "I'm just afraid you won't be able to showcase your talents at the Kyte Group."
"Don't worry. If I can't showcase my talents at the Kyte Group, then I definitely can't at any other company," Joshua comforted her.
He continued, "As for starting my own business, I don't have that plan right now. If I ever do, I'll tell you. Trust me, I won't let myself suffer."
"Alright, if you ever want to leave, just let me know." Evelyn nodded, not saying more. She wasn't one to be overly sentimental.
"What did Dermot just talk to you about?" Joshua suddenly asked, genuinely curious.
Evelyn was stunned and a bit helpless. "Joshua, when did you develop such a keen interest in prying into others' private affairs?"
"Can you satisfy my curiosity?" Joshua asked.
"Ruby's looking for me. I'll go check," Evelyn said, walking towards Ruby in the distance, completely ignoring his question.
