Chapter 208 Natalie's Purpose
This question really stumped Evelyn. She thought of several names in her mind, but ultimately felt they weren't quite fitting.
"I think calling you Mr. Doyle is fine."
Evelyn smiled and hesitated, not knowing what to call him. Dermot's face changed slightly. He thought Evelyn would have come up with a reason after thinking for so long, but she had nothing to say.
Seeing that he was getting angry, Evelyn quickly said, "Just call me by my name."
Dermot nodded reluctantly. Although he was not satisfied, he could only agree.
The car drove quickly and soon arrived at the restaurant. The two of them got out of the car and walked in together.
The waiter led them to a private room and opened the door. Evelyn saw Natalie and Oliver sitting inside.
Seeing Dermot's arrival, Natalie wasn't surprised and said, "Dermot, I knew you would accompany Ms. Kyte."
She gestured for the two of them to sit down.
Evelyn noticed that there were indeed four sets of chopsticks and bowls on the table. Natalie hadn't lied. She really guessed that Dermot would come.
They sat down, and Natalie asked the waiter to serve the dishes before looking at Evelyn and Dermot. "Dermot, don't worry. I invited Ms. Kyte to dinner today to apologize for everything that happened before."
"I did aim at Ms. Kyte because I liked you in the past, but now I'm married, and I also really like Oliver. I won't bother you anymore, let alone Ms. Kyte."
She spoke sincerely, and Evelyn didn't know what Dermot was thinking, but she didn't believe a single word. However, she didn't expose her thoughts. After all, it's not right to slap someone who smiles at you. If Natalie wanted to pretend, she didn't mind playing along.
Dermot nodded, "It's best if you can think like that."
"Don't worry. I've figured it out. I will live with Oliver in the future, as for the Barns family..." When mentioning the Barns family, she looked troubled.
But she quickly let go, "Since I'm already married, I have nothing to do with the Barns family anymore. I don't want to get involved, whether they go bankrupt or anything else."
This surprised Evelyn a bit. She thought Natalie would ask Dermot for help. After all, she had apologized, which seemed like a setup to save the Barns family.
Seeing her distress, Oliver reached out and pulled her into his arms, full of tenderness in his eyes.
Evelyn observed their actions and could confirm that Oliver truly liked Natalie. This surprised her.
It's not that Natalie doesn't deserve to be liked. If it weren't for the incident where she drugged Dermot, with her status as a member of the Barns family, she could still have married well.
But after what happened with Dermot, the major families all avoided Natalie, so Oliver's willingness to marry her can be considered true love.
Unfortunately, he is truly in love, but Natalie may not necessarily feel the same way. Although it seems like there is love in her eyes, Evelyn knows deep down that someone like Natalie could never truly love Oliver. Everything now is just an act.
"Mr. Doyle, Ms. Kyte, since Natalie has already spoken up, I also want to say a few words." Oliver pated Natalie's shoulder before looking at the two individuals.
"I know Natalie has made many mistakes in the past, but she is willing to change and keep away from the Barns family. I hope both of you can give her a chance."
When it comes to someone you truly like, you naturally don't want them to suffer even a bit of harm.
Dermot didn't say anything, but instead looked at Evelyn. His meaning was clear - he will follow Evelyn's lead. For a moment, all eyes were on Evelyn.
