Chapter 433 Don't Make Unreasonable Trouble
The two of them argued fiercely, while Evelyn sat awkwardly beside them. She wanted to intervene and pacify them, but she felt like she didn't have the right to do so. After all, they were mother and son, no matter how much they argued, they were still connected. What a complicated relationship.
While hesitating, a loud bang came from the study on the second floor, catching the attention of the two arguing individuals in the living room. All three of them quickly rushed upstairs and pushed open the study door.
"Grandpa!" Evelyn exclaimed.
Inside the study, Mr. Hamilton Sr. was lying on the ground, while Mr. Hamilton stood beside her, seemingly at a loss. Evelyn hurried over to conduct an examination, her expression turning serious in an instant.
"Get him to the hospital immediately. He's had a cerebral hemorrhage!"
She felt helpless. She had explicitly told Mr. Hamilton Sr. to avoid getting too agitated, but it seemed her words were forgotten in the blink of an eye.
Greg lifted his grandfather up in his arms and turned to leave. Just as he reached the doorway, he glanced back at Mr. Hamilton, through gritted teeth, said fiercely, "If something happens to my grandfather, I'll make you pay!"
"You!" Mr. Hamilton was infuriated by Greg's words. It was clear Greg only cared about his grandfather, and completely disregarded his own father's existence. Though it was the truth, being confronted with Greg's blunt words still wounded his pride to some degree.
Greg didn't bother engaging in further conversation. He carried his grandfather downstairs, making sure to instruct the staff, to guard the doors and prevent anyone inside from leaving.
The people inside he was referring to were, of course, Mr. Hamilton and Mrs. Hamilton.
Inside the study, Mrs. Hamilton still looked bewildered. "What's going on? How did Grandpa Doyle suddenly collapse?"
"How would I know? We merely had a brief argument. Who could have expected him to be so agitated?" Mr. Hamilton was equally speechless. Grandpa Doyle had summoned him here just to scold him, and he couldn't stand it.
He also had no idea why Grandpa Doyle had called for him. He thought the old man simply wanted to lecture him, so, he had argued back.
Mrs. Hamilton grew worried. "Seeing Greg's reaction just now, if something happens to Grandpa Doyle, I'm afraid he won't let it go."
"What can he do to me? Can he really kill me?" Mr. Hamilton sneered. In his view, no matter how powerful Greg was, he was still his son, and should listen to his father's words.
In the car on the way to the hospital, Greg held onto Grandpa Doyle and continually urged the driver to speed up. Evelyn sat beside him, constantly observing Mr. Hamilton's condition. The more she observed, the more concerned she became.
Before long, they arrived at the hospital. As they had already informed the staff in advance, many doctors and nurses were waiting at the entrance. They swiftly rushed Grandpa Doyle into the emergency room.
"Wait." Greg stopped them and then turned his gaze towards Evelyn. "Evelyn, you'll be in charge of the surgery."
He didn't trust anyone else; he only trusted Evelyn. Upon hearing this, the doctor at the door frowned, displaying his displeasure. "Mr. Hamilton, the patient's condition is critical. This is not the time for you to create a scene."
Letting an outsider perform surgery in their hospital? This operation was extremely serious, it was not to be taken lightly. Greg wanted to mention how skilled Evelyn was, but she stopped him.
"Let's not waste any more time." Evelyn urged them to go save the person while she handled Greg.
Soon, the patient was wheeled into the emergency room. Greg and Evelyn sat on the bench by the door before she explained, "I know you trust me, but doctors have their own areas of practice. I cannot perform surgery in this hospital."
"Besides, we are in Colombia, where there are many doctors more skilled than me. I trust they will be able to save your grandfather."
Evelyn didn't think she was the most talented person in the world. Even though cerebral hemorrhages were dangerous, if treated promptly there shouldn't be too many problems.
