Chapter 365 Let's Give It a Try Then
After Enrico left, Dermot didn't plan to stay long with Greg. He got up, ready to leave.
However, Greg seemed to have something to say and spoke up, "Why is Mr. Doyle in such a hurry? Let's chat."
Dermot, who had already stood up, sat back down upon hearing this, his cold gaze fixed on Greg. "What do you want to chat about?"
"You're being unnecessarily suspicious. What else can we talk about besides Evelyn?" There wasn't much to talk about between them besides Evelyn.
Dermot sneered, showing no fear just because Greg was a member of the Hamilton family. "Then I think it's unnecessary. Evelyn is a person, not a commodity to be traded between you and me."
"Look at you, getting so worked up. I haven't said anything yet." In his view, Dermot was overreacting, which only further proved that his motives were impure as well.
Dermot took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. "Oh? So what do you want to say?"
"It's nothing, just the usual. How much money will it take for you to break up with Evelyn." He said this not expecting much, but the proper procedure had to be followed, or else people would think that the Hamilton family couldn't come up with the money.
Sure enough, Dermot smiled at his words, but that smile held a hint of coldness.
"The Hamilton family may be a second-rate family in Colombia, but why do you act so superior in Moris City? Do you really think everyone is afraid of you?" He chuckled lightly, clearly not taking Greg seriously.
Greg's face turned unpleasant, and he gritted his teeth, saying, "Even if we're just a second-rate family in Colombia, it's still enough to deal with you."
"Is that so?" Dermot raised an eyebrow, his face full of disdain. "Then give it a try."
"Do you really want to oppose Evelyn and the Hamilton family? Even if you end up with nothing in the end, you don't care?" He didn't believe that Dermot truly loved Evelyn. They were both people with ulterior motives, pretending to have genuine feelings.
Dermot didn't answer him but instead got up and walked out of the private room, leaving behind the sound of a slamming door.
"Dermot!" Greg, annoyed, stood up and chased after him.
"You don't have to pretend to be nobler than me, do you think I don't know what your intentions are?" Greg said behind him, not stopping.
Dermot felt annoyed and had the urge to punch someone.
Seeing him stay silent, Greg continued, "We're the same, both interested in the benefits Evelyn brings. Don't pretend to be so affectionate."
Dermot abruptly stopped walking, almost colliding with Greg. "You..."
Looking up and meeting Dermot's gaze, Greg was suddenly startled.
The man in front of him seemed like a devil emerging from hell, exuding a chilling aura. Even though Greg had encountered ruthless individuals in Colombia, none of them compared to Dermot in this moment.
"I am not like you!" he told Greg.
After saying that, Dermot turned around and walked away, leaving Greg standing there, unable to snap out of it for quite some time.
In the car, Dermot's mood was greatly affected by Greg's words just now.
How dare he say they were the same? Dermot was obviously different from him.
Back at Barbert's Apartment, Evelyn returned home feeling a bit anxious, constantly pondering how she should explain to Dermot later.
Until Dermot arrived, she hadn't come up with a proper reason, so she could only gaze at him expectantly, waiting for him to ask.
But Dermot didn't ask; instead, he countered, "Are you hungry?"
Evelyn shook her head. "I already had dinner."
As soon as she said that, Evelyn felt a bit regretful. Dermot must have known she had dinner because he bumped into her at the restaurant entrance. By asking this, he was probably inquiring if she wanted supper...
