Chapter 696 Get Out
Chapter 696: Get Out
"Wade, these are all my belongings. I'll sort them out quickly," Lucia said as she moved to organize her things, only to be shoved to the ground by Wade.
Wade glanced down at Lucia with a look of disdain in his eyes. "You don't expect to stay in the same room as me, do you?""
"Wade," Lucia felt a surge of unease, especially seeing Wade's attitude, which made her want to flee.
"The servant's room downstairs, that's where you belong," Wade said without another glance, heading towards the bathroom.
Shortly after, the sound of running water emanated from the bathroom. Lucia, lying on the floor, felt bewildered.
She was supposed to be the future mistress of the Allen family, how could she stay in the servant's room?
However, remembering Wade's previous behavior, Lucia couldn't help but feel a bit frightened. After hesitating for some time, she eventually brought her luggage downstairs.
The effort of carrying her luggage upstairs had already worn her out, and now moving it back down left her completely depleted.
Just as she finished, Wade emerged from the bathroom, he asked, "Where's the soup?"
He stood on the second-floor hallway, looking at Lucia who was resting on the living room sofa. "You didn't think I brought you here to enjoy yourself, did you?"
Lucia, from now on, as you're so keen to be part of the Allen family, you will be responsible for all the household chores. If anything displeases me, don't be surprised if I send you back to the Kyte family."
Lucia had already stood up from the sofa, looking at Wade with grievance. "Wade, can't we hire a servant?"
"Hire a servant? Then what do I need you for? To be an eyesore?" Wade's words were harsh. He had brought Lucia here to torment her, and he certainly wouldn't make it easy for her.
Lucia bit her lip, on the verge of tears. "Wade, I'm your fiancée. How can you treat me like this?"
"Fiancée? You know very well how you got that title. If you want to marry into the Allen family, you need to show some sincerity," Wade said.
Lucia took a deep breath, as if making a decision. "So if I show sincerity, will you accept me?"
"We'll see about that," Wade replied. Accept her? He would never accept her in his lifetime.
Wade went back to his room and added as he left, "The soup, don't make me remind you again."
"Alright," Lucia nodded in agreement. She knew Wade was deliberately making things difficult for her, but since she had chosen to move in, she had to make Wade accept her. Otherwise, all her previous efforts would be in vain.
She couldn't give up, nor could she let Wade drive her away.
After silently encouraging herself, Lucia walked to the kitchen to make soup for Wade.
Half an hour later, Lucia pushed open the master bedroom door. "Wade, the soup is ready."
"Get out! Don't you know how to knock?" Wade glanced at her coldly, closing the document in his hand.
Lucia was taken aback but promptly apologized. She excused herself, stepped out, knocked, and then re-entered.
This time, Wade remained silent, accepting the soup she offered but not consuming it right away.
As Lucia stood there puzzled, Wade sneered at her. "I don't dare eat anything you make."
"Wade, I..."
The bowl in Wade's hand crashed to the ground as he gazed at her with a mocking expression. "Who's to say you won't attempt to deceive me again," he remarked.
"Wade, I didn't..."
"Clean up the mess and then get out," Wade said, not in the mood to listen to her explanations. With a wave of his hand, he turned back to his work.
Lucia's tears fell uncontrollably from her face. She bit her lip, refusing to let herself cry out loud.
