Chapter 406 I Will Not Let You Down

Oliver frowned and said, "Natalie, I can't sell. I am part of the Stanley family. If even we lack confidence in the company, how will outsiders perceive it?"

Natalie glared at him and said impatiently, "If you don't sell, when the Stanley Group goes bankrupt, your shares will be worthless. Do you want to spend the rest of your life in poverty?"
Oliver fell silent.

"Oliver, sell your shares. Let's start a new company just for you and me, without all these share disputes. Isn't this a good idea?" Natalie suggested.

She finally revealed her purpose. Ever since Lauren wanted to take over the Stanley Group, she knew she had no chance, so she planned to establish her own company.

But she needed money, and the only place she could get it from was Oliver.
"But..."

"There's no 'but,' Oliver. Think about what you've achieved all these years. Do you want to let Lauren surpass you? Do you want others to say that you, as a son of the Stanley Group, are inferior to Lauren?" Natalie's tone became less polite and her frustration grew, thinking he was useless.

No.
No need to say, Natalie did have some abilities in this regard, and hearing her speak, Oliver couldn't help but feel a bit stirred. Over the years, he had always believed that he had no abilities, which led others to ridicule him. Although no one said it to his face, he knew it deep down. Now, the idea of establishing his own company was naturally enticing.

"Natalie, I understand what you mean, but I don't have the ability for this." In front of Natalie, he had to admit that he truly lacked talent in business.

Seeing his reaction, Natalie comforted him, "Don't worry, I'll help you. You know my capabilities, and I guarantee they won't be inferior to Lauren's."

"But what if we fail..."

"Oliver, are you even a man? Always timid, fearing this and that. Aren't you afraid of living under Lauren's shadow for the rest of your life?" Natalie got angry and yelled at him.

Seeing her anger, Oliver quickly reassured her, "Natalie, don't be angry. I'll listen to you."

Upon hearing this, Natalie finally smiled, "That's right, trust me. I won't let you down."

Perhaps Oliver would never have imagined at that moment that this decision of his would turn him from a worry-free life to having nothing at all. But Evelyn didn't know all this. Even if she did, she would probably just applaud and cheer, watching the two head towards ruin.

When she returned to the office after the operation, Evelyn was exhausted. To her dismay, Greg was in the office, making her even more breathless.

"Evelyn, you haven't eaten, have you? I brought you some food." He placed the brought food on Evelyn's desk, looking at her with a beaming smile.

Evelyn helplessly replied, "Mr. Hamilton, I appreciate your kindness, but you really don't have to do so much."

"It's okay, I want to." Greg didn't mind Evelyn's refusal at all. Perhaps he had been rejected too many times that it didn't bother him anymore.

Shaking her head, Evelyn didn't know what else to say. She could never make things clear with this person. She decided to open the lunch box and started eating.

Seeing her eating, Greg's smile became brighter. Progress was being made. In the past, Evelyn would never have eaten the food he brought.

When Marina knocked on the door and entered, she witnessed this scene and felt that her timing was off.

"Marina, do you need something?" Evelyn looked up at her.

Marina felt awkward, still holding her phone and tablet. She didn't know if she should say it or not. It seemed like Eve wasn't that upset anyway.

Evelyn sensed something and extended her hand towards her, "Pass me the tablet, let me see."
