Chapter 842 Would Peter Actually Want to Kill Me?

At this moment, Jennifer wasn't in a rush. She had someone bring Evelyn a cup of coffee. Once the coffee arrived, she finally spoke up, "Peter Anderson, who learned martial arts with me, is here."

"Peter Anderson?" Evelyn was stunned, not quite understanding what this had to do with what she was talking about.

"Yeah, Emerald brought him," Jennifer added.

Evelyn finally got it. After she saved Emerald last time, Emerald still hadn't let go of her grudge. She went and found Peter, who most likely learned martial arts with Nathan.

Evelyn sighed, wondering why Emerald was so persistent. Why couldn't she live her life in peace?

"How does Peter's martial arts compare to yours?" Evelyn asked directly. Since Peter was here for her, she needed to be prepared.

Jennifer thought for a moment, then said, "Let's put it this way, with your skills, you can't beat him."

Jennifer knew how strong Peter and Evelyn were. Comparing the two, she figured Peter was stronger.

Evelyn felt uneasy hearing that. If he was stronger than her, it would be a problem, meaning she needed backup.

"But don't worry. If we team up, he won't stand a chance," Jennifer said confidently.

Evelyn was taken aback, somewhat incredulous. "Really? You're going to help me deal with Peter?"

"What's the big deal? As long as we don't kill him, what's wrong with giving him a beating?" Jennifer had long wanted to beat up Peter and now was a good opportunity.

Evelyn found it both amusing and exasperating. Coming back to her senses, she asked, "Are you all so free? Can you take revenge on anyone you want? Mr. Weaver doesn't care?"

"Mr. Weaver doesn't have the energy to care about these things. Ever since we started venturing out, he hasn't really managed us. He made it clear that we have to handle our own problems," Jennifer explained, indicating that Alvin was quite hands-off.

With that, Evelyn felt that Gary was simply the best teacher. She believed that if she encountered difficulties now and asked for help, Gary would definitely come to her aid.

Since Evelyn wasn't speaking, Jennifer worried that she didn't want her help and quickly said, "Boss, you can't be too careless. Peter is really good at fighting, and you have to take him seriously."

"I know." Evelyn knew Jennifer's martial arts skills. Since Peter was stronger than her, Evelyn knew that she probably couldn't beat Peter and naturally wouldn't fight him one-on-one.

She asked, "Do you know when Peter will come to find me?"

"I don't know." Jennifer shook her head.

Evelyn nodded and didn't ask further, "Alright, I get it. If there's a need, I'll call you."

"Boss, by the time you call me, it might be too late for me to get there." Jennifer quickly got up to follow her.

Evelyn frowned. "So, what's your suggestion?"

"Let others manage the bar for the next few days. I'll stay by your side. No matter when Peter shows up, I can protect you," Jennifer said.

After all, Evelyn was her boss now, and she had to protect her. If something happened to Evelyn, where would she find such a kind boss?

Evelyn was amused and couldn't help but say, "Is it really necessary? Would Peter actually want to kill me?"

"Who knows? Peter is unpredictable. He used to beat me up all the time," Jennifer muttered, not daring to guarantee anything.
