Chapter 90 What a pity

Natalie couldn't help but ask, "Ms. Kyte, do you also know what Grandpa Doyle likes?"

"I just have a general idea of what the elderly like," Evelyn replied.

Natalie agreed. How could she know what he liked?

However, Dermot standing next to her didn't think the same way.

During those two years of marriage, even though he hadn't met Evelyn, Grandpa Doyle had met her often, so it wasn't strange for Evelyn to know what he liked.

Evelyn pulled Marina towards the exit and said, "Let's go buy the gift."

"Okay." Marina nodded politely and waved at Dermot and Natalie.

As they were about to leave the store, Natalie spoke, "Dermot, did you invite Ms. Kyte to Grandpa Doyle's birthday celebration?"

Evelyn, who had reached the door, also stopped in her tracks.

She did want to attend Grandpa Doyle's birthday celebration, as he had treated her fairly well during those two years, but if she wasn't invited, she couldn't just force to go.

"Ms. Kyte, did you receive an invitation to Grandpa Doyle's birthday celebration?" Natal

"Dermot was so busy that he didn't have time to come," Natalie said with a touch of regret.

Dermot didn't muster the courage to invite Evelyn. He didn't want to argue with her in front of so many people.

Evelyn didn't pay attention to what the two of them were saying. She took Marina and walked out of the crystal shop, disappearing from their sight.

Marina sensed Evelyn's unhappiness and asked, "Eve, do you want to attend Grandpa Doyle's birthday celebration? If you want to go, I can accompany you."

"No," Evelyn shook her head. Although Marina had good intentions, her own identity was quite special, and it might cause trouble for their family.

Marina didn't insist.

Not long after, Evelyn took Marina to a specialized store selling paper, ink, brushes, and inkstones, and the two walked in.

"What can I help you with?" the store clerk greeted them warmly.

Evelyn glanced around and then said to him, "Is Adams here?"

"He is. Please wait, I'll go get the boss," the store clerk said in surprise. He didn't expect this beautiful girl in front of him to know their boss.

Evelyn and Marina waited in the resting area.

"Eve, is the owner of this store your friend?" Marina curiously asked.

Evelyn thought and shook her head, "Not exactly, he is a friend of my master."

Marina nodded. She didn't know who Evelyn's master was, but she thought she was powerful and mysterious.

Adams walked out from the back room and saw Evelyn sitting in the resting area. He smiled and said, "Hey, young lady, why did you come to see Adams today?"

"Adams, I came today to help my friend choose a gift to give someone," she said, whispering, "It's for Grandpa Doyle's birthday."

Adams understood and said a few words in a low voice to the store clerk before he went back to the back room. He then chatted casually with Evelyn, "How is your master's health? When are you planning to come to Moris City?"

"Master's health is good, he practices Tai Chi every day," Evelyn laughed and added, "As for when I will come to Moris City, I don't know yet."
