Chapter 45 Do You Like Him?

Pain and regret intertwined as Evelyn considered whether or not she should endure the stomach ache and go downstairs to buy medicine. Just then, footsteps could be heard again at the door.

Looking up, she saw Dermot appearing in front of her again and exclaimed in surprise, "You didn't leave?"

"I only have painkillers here, I don't have medicine for stomach problems, so you can take these first," he said, handing Evelyn the painkillers and even carefully pouring her a cup of hot water.

At this point, Evelyn couldn't afford to be coy, so she took the medicine and drank the water right away.

Over ten minutes later, Evelyn felt much better. She sat up and said to Dermot, "Thank you."

The man looked at her, his expression dark, and only spoke after a moment of hesitation, "Do you not want to live? You know you have a stomach problem and yet you didn't eat dinner?"

"Today's situation, you already know about it, when would I have had the chance to eat?" Evelyn replied, not wanting to go through surgery with an empty stomach, but surgeries took six or seven hours and she couldn't exactly stop halfway to have a meal, which was frightening.

Dermot didn't say anything more, but asked, "Are you feeling better now?"

"Yes, much better," Evelyn nodded, then said, "You should go back and rest, it's late."

"Just helped you and you're already trying to chase me away, you really are heartless," Dermot stared at her, feeling that this woman didn't show any favor.

Evelyn was helpless, "That's not what I meant, I just think it's getting late, and it wouldn't be good to delay you any longer."

"After delaying me for so long, is it really going to matter now?" the man retorted.

Evelyn was speechless, "Alright, whatever you say," she didn't feel like speaking up anymore.

During the silence, someone knocked on the door, and just as Evelyn was about to get up to open it, Dermot walked over first.

Opening the door, there was a deliveryman outside, "Your takeout."

"Mm," Dermot didn't say anything, took the takeout, and glanced at the name "Mr. Kartland" written on the order slip, feeling a little unhappy but not showing it.

Carrying the takeout back to the living room, he looked at Evelyn, "Keith sent this takeout?"

"I think so," Evelyn nodded, he had said he ordered food for her earlier.

Saying that, Evelyn was about to open the food to eat, after all, she was really hungry, and not eating could mean her stomach would continue to hurt later.

Seeing her ready to eat, Dermot suppressed his anger and stopped her, "If your stomach is not comfortable, don't eat spicy food."

Watching the food being taken away in front of her, Evelyn was a little confused, "It's fine to have something to eat, I'm not picky."

"Do you like Keith?" Dermot asked.

Evelyn was puzzled again, then shook her head, "I've only seen him two or three times, liking or not liking him is a bit too far-fetched."

Hearing her say that, Dermot's mood improved slightly, but he still said seriously, "I told you to stay away from him before, I have some conflicts with him, he's approaching you deliberately."

"Why should he do that if you have conflicts with him? What does that have to do with me?" Evelyn asked sincerely, not understanding the cause and effect relationship here.

This...

Dermot was also stunned.

Yeah, what did it have to do with Evelyn?

But that guy Keith didn't think so, he was convinced that he had feelings for Evelyn, so he deliberately approached her.

However, this was obviously something he couldn't tell Evelyn.
